“Convenient if you are staying at Marriot”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

We ate dinner with our small grandchildren at this restaurant. The waiter went out of his way to make the children comfortable as the food was really taking a long time to come out. We ate Caesar salads and shared the seafood plate which was plenty of food for us. It was prepared well and tasty but not something you would seek out if you weren't staying in the hotel.

“Great Breakfast, Expensive”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Great breakfast but pricey. Buffet was great and they had some good beers on tap. Did not eat dinner there but looks good.

“Nice surprise for an in-hotel Restaurant”
Reviewed December 22, 2012

Located in the Marriott Hotel near downtown Charleston. This would not be a person's number 1 choice if not staying at the hotel, but it was for us this particular night. We were staying in a nearby hotel that did not offer dining in, so this was a 2 minute drive away. For a downtown restaurant you don't need to fight for parking or find a spot 5 blocks away, parking is ample and we were at our table 30-seconds from arrival.

The restaurant was tucked away in a romantic and quite part of the hotel. Way to go is the 3 for $30. Appetizer, entree and dessert for $30 is a GREAT deal. Wine by the glass is actually a half-carafe. Service was very attentive, Russell did a great job for us w/out being intrusive.

1st round of bread was very crisp and fresh, can't say that about 2nd round (we are big bread eaters and asked for 2nds)... That is about the only detraction. Would be a good place due to their excellent acoustics for parties of 4 or more. Was the FIRST restaurant in over 6 months that we have eaten that we can actually HEAR a conversation at ''normal'' inside voices. Most other places are overly LOUD.

On the Saleeby Scale: 8/10

“very reasonable”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

I had the coob salad which was only 9 dollars and came with jalapeno poppers instead of croutons and my husband the honey peach wings which he enjoyed very much.

“Decent”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

Met friends for a drink and quick dinner at Saffire as they were in town for a quick overnight visit and it was convenient to meet there. With so many other options in Charleston, Saffire would not be a top choice but it was decent. My husband had a burger which he described as good. I had a flatbread specialty pizza that wasn't all that special. The atmosphere feels just a little too dark to be festive; I've always wondered why Marriott hasn't done anything to brighten things up. Otherwise the food is decent and the service is good.
