“Bacon Egg & Cheese Bagel”
Reviewed January 8, 2014

I was going through the market this past Saturday and noticed this unique coffee shop and bakery about 3/4 the way down. I had a bacon egg and cheese bagel and it was wonderful. Ordered it on a plain bagel and it came out on an everything bagel which was a nice surprise since I thought they were out of them. Would recommend stopping here for a quick snack when visiting the market.

“What a beautiful presentation from the counter order”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

This is one of the highlight of our Charleston trip (photo with this review): a spiral-stacked presentation of truffle salami with French bread plus 2 French mustard (smooth and grainy) served on a wooden tray. Upon entering this deli/cafe/mini wine store, I was drawn to the deli order counter with an open case filled with cheese, sausage and mustard selections. I spotted a truffle salami and asked if, instead of ordering from the menu board, could they slice the salami thinly for me. Of course, a young chef answered gladly. While waiting on the far side, I managed to glance the production process: his professional dedication showed in each motion - guiding the slicer to produce very thin salami, cutting and stacking bread into spiral formation, then finally dotting the mustard to perfect rounds with swirling ends. (Wonder he had a French chef as his culinary mentor?) When I brought the masterpiece tray to our table, quite a few people were eyeing along the way with oohs and aahs. Thank you, deli chef, may your culinary career blossoms and brings joys to many more appreciating customers.

“Caviar and Bananas is always first class and fresh for lunch”
Reviewed December 31, 2013

Caviar and Bananas is a great gem in Charleston for lunch ... casual elegance ... good food ... friendly and fresh. I had a panini, my wife had a salmon sandwich and both were outstanding. We took four friends who had never been before and they are still raving about it.

All this enjoyable food and great atmosphere for reasonable prices!
