Let me start by saying that we did truly enjoy our stay on the Southern Comfort, and had plans to return. However, the memory of our trip has been tainted by Chris, the boat owners after charges.
Our trip coordinator works in vacation rentals, and had the due diligence to contact Chris is advance to make sure our balance was paid in full before check in, to which he replied "yes we are all set and ready for your arrival". Which apparently was not the case by any means.
We had arranged to set up for a surprise bachelorette party prior to our entire party arriving, and when we got there we discovered the prior guests were still on board. We had to leave the decorations and come back with the rest of the group, and still realized that Chris was still cleaning and not ready for our stay. He did not finish cleaning until 3:30 pm, over 3 hours past our check in time.
That could have been overlooked, if it wasn't for Chris contacting us the day after check out saying that we owed a balance due to an extra guest and not paying in full upon check in. Neither charge was mentioned when our party checked in, or when we contacted Chris in advance. He was notified that we would have an additional guest, and did not mention their being a charge per guest per night, only the total charge for the rental of the weekend.
Bottom line, we enjoyed our stay and hoped to return but clearly this is the boat owners end game. If you would like this experience I suggest renting through a company and not directly through the owner as he seems to fraudulently charge his guests after their stay for erroneous charges and damages.
