We were in Charleston for a wedding weekend. We wanted a pretty, romantic, historical inn or B & B centrally located in Charleston's historical section. The Governor's House Inn was that and more. It felt like we were guests of the people who built that beautiful mansion. There were large, well-appointed public rooms where you could meet other guests or meet your local friends. The homemade breakfasts were delicious and a great way to start the day and meet other guests. The late afternoon wine and appetizers were also delicious and a wonderful respite before going out for the evening. (I had to ask for the recipes, they were that good!) Our room on the second floor landing was gorgeous. I only wish the weather had been warm enough to use our room's second story porch. Bryan, the manager and concierge was warm, hospitable, informative, and attentive. I can't say enough good things about this wonderful place.More
