“A great location to explore historic Charleston and surrounding locales”

Charlotte cottage provided us with a beautiful oasis during our unforgettable stay in Charleston. The cottage is so comfortable. I slept better than I do at home. It's historic charm and integrity are perfect. Access to the historic city is easy by foot, yet it is in a very quiet neighborhood. The garden and patio are very inviting, and a great place to read.
Finally Lisa and Geoff are generous hosts and very knowledgeable about the area.

We spent three nights at the cottage .Its in a quiet location but very convenient for walking around Charleston. The fridge was well stocked for breakfasts and Lisa the owner was friendly and very helpful. Lots of information about restaurants and things to do in the area were found in the cottage. Also the wi-fi reception was good .

My daughter surprised me with a four day visit to Charleston, South Carolina and Charlotte Street Cottage was the best part of our visit. We were delighted with the close proximity to downtown and walked everywhere. The neighborhood was a photographer's delight.

The cottage is a charming two story brick tucked in the backyard of a beautiful historic mansion. The hosts were wonderful to us, even presenting my daughter with a beautiful birthday cake.

My daughter's dog, Belah, loved the yard and even found a couple of bones left by the house dogs, Lola, Stymie and Luna. We loved that the yard and cottage were pet friendly and we enjoyed being around a family that loves animals. Rufus the family cat observed
coming and going from afar.

The cottage is immaculate with lots of amenities such as cable t.v., dishwasher, washing machine, internet connection, luxury linens and towels. The living room is well appointed with comfortable couch and easy chair. The open beam ceiling and huge fireplace adds to the charm.

We were greeted with a huge fruit basket and wine with lots of choices for breakfast. The hosts Lisa and Geoff were wonderful to us and made us feel welcomed and safe.

Above all we loved the experience of just being in Charlotte Street Cottage and would highly recommend it to everyone wanting to experience the real Charleston, South Carolina.

  • Liked — The close proximity to downtown and the luxury.
  • Disliked — nothing....it was all good.

Your only sadness will be when you have to leave.
The proprietors and their four footed family could not be more charming and inviting.
I loved every minute.
Comfort, quality, bursting with history and appeal!
What ever your plans, change them for 32 Charlotte Street, you won't regret it.

My husband and I were delighted with our stay at Charlotte Street Cottage. Coming from California, the biggest surprise was its genuinely historic “old world” charm. It felt like we were in Europe without having made the trip! The next best thing was its absolute privacy, and the fact that we could walk everywhere. We found it far more enjoyable than staying in a hotel; and a better value too - given the rates of the nice hotels we first explored. For the price of a single hotel room, the cottage offers an entire little house of your own. We so enjoyed having breakfast every morning outside; surrounded by the owner’s wonderful garden. While breakfast isn’t served, everything you could want is stocked in the kitchen (don’t even think of eating other meals in. Charleston has a remarkable number of great restaurants for such a small place). You should know that there is no daily maid service but, again, our privacy was paramount to us so this only added to the feeling of being in our own private “pied a terre”. Oh, and did I mention it’s SO romantic! In short, we loved the place, and the owners couldn’t have been more gracious, helpful, welcoming and warm.

  • Liked — Privacy
  • Disliked — Can't think of anything!
  • Tips/Secrets — Walk to Rue de Jean for wonderfully authentic french bistro food

We had the opportunity to stay at Charlotte Street Cottage on 2 occasions - once in the fall & again in the spring. For the price of a hotel room, we had an immaculate guest cottage with fully-stocked kitchen. The hosts were warm & helpful with recommendations for restaurants, tours, etc. They live in the main house and were gracious enough to invite us in for a tour of it's 150 yr old grandeur with original moldings & woodwork. We learned that the guest cottage was the originial kitchen house where slaves used to cook the meals. Our rooms overlooked private gardens with a charming antique fountain. Parking is abundant right next to the cottage. Whole property is very private yet a few short blocks from everything, i.e. shopping, restaurants, the harbour. We were greeted with a sumptious WELCOME basket with fruit, wine, flowers. Extra personal touches are everywhere --especially in the immaculate rooms with high quality linens & charm galore.
