This is a great place for photos! The day we went was miserably hot, bring water (even though the signs say no beverages) there is NO PLACE in the swamp to get water, you WILL need it. Wear proper clothes and expect bugs/mosquitos. Be forewarned - there ARE Alligators, Snakes, Spiders, and who knows what other creepy crawlies living in there. Bring a camera and binoculars if you have them!

This was my first trip to a swamp and i hope it won't be my last. the boardwalk is an awesome way to get up close! ther herons were nesting while we were there and the trees were filled with them - it was beautiful. We saw a couple of large gators out in the marshes too!

it was really hot the day we went so make sure you are hydrated, a lot of the walk is in direct sun. there was so much wildlife here I was in awe. there must have been over 100 birds in one tree. we got to see baby Egrets being fed in the nest by the mom and tons of gators, lizards, turtles and lots of dragonflies. very beautiful and well worth the $8

We like historic towns for all the museums, churches, architecture and culture. This is something off the beaten path that gives you a feel for the natural beauty of the area. Lots of birds and alligators to see, and a very interesting small cemetery with very old gravestones.
