this was the second year we stayed in Fulton inn. The inn is in a very central location 2 minutes walk from the Market and all the shopping and restaurants. It's in a historic building and beautifully restored to it's old beauty. rooms are clean, very spacious with high ceiling and looooots of light. Service is fantastic and extremely friendly. COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST IN BED is just the icing on the cake.

Thank for choosing the Fulton Lane Inn for your second trip to Charleston. We enjoyed seeing you all again. Our rooms provide a great space for families to unwind after a day on the town - and breakfast of course, as you put so well, is icing on the cake". Many thanks. We look forward to hosting your third trip to Charleston. Sincerely, Richard Widman, Proprietor

My wife and I spent 3 days at the Fulton Lane Inn in mid-summer. Perfect location on King St.; walking distance to lots of restaurants, shopping, etc. A few blocks to the city market, carriage rides, etc., and then on to the waterfront.

The room was spacious, tastefully decorated, clean and everything in good working order. Good wifi service provided to guests, and $12/day to park in the lot behind the hotel with unlimited in/out (a pretty good deal in the heart of Charleston). We were able to walk out our door to the Second Sunday festival on King St. Also, they deliver a decent continental breakfast to your room every morning. We got our room via Hotwire, where it was rated 3 stars - well worth the rating. Very good value for us - not sure what their regular rates are like - but I will check them out again on our next visit to Charleston. Liked it very much.

Stayed for 3 nights in the Cathedral Suite. Room was well appointed, clean and very comfortable. Complimentary breakfast delivered to the room every morning. Large jetted soaking tub and large separate shower with isolated toilet room. Staff were friendly and courteous and location was great. 1 block from the Market. Very charming property for a great price; its not the Mandarin or Four Seasons, but it is a very good option for the area. I would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Cathedral Suite #321

My husband and I spent our anniversary at the Fulton Lane Inn. The location is perfect - it's in the middle of downtown, so everything is convenient, but it was very quiet and safe. Our room was spacious and very tastefully decorated - very romantic. We enjoyed complimentary wine and cheese and sherry in the evening with a wonderful complimentary breakfast in the morning. However, it was the wonderful staff that stood out to us the most. We were greeted by name when coming and going after we checked in. We were given recommendations for things to do/places to eat. It was an all-around WONDERFUL experience. For the location and service, the price is unbeatable, too! We can't wait to go back!!!

We picked this location to be closed to a friend's wedding. The location is within easy walking distance to lots of shopping, restaurants, bars, and the waterfront. The continental breakfast was basic, but really enjoyed that it was delivered to the room. We had a large room with 2 QUEEN beds.

If you're looking for a full-service or luxury property, the Fulton Lane Inn is not for you.
The location is great, the service is good, the property is clean and comfortable.

This hotel is great for a romantic weekend. Hotel is in a great location to enjoy Charleston. It is in the middle of great shopping and great restaurants. The staff was very helpful with dining recommendations. We enjoyed the complimentary Wine and cheese In the afternoon, as well as the evening sherry. The room service breakfast was a perfect start for a day of site seeing and shopping. Check their website for package deals.

This was a nice quiet inn, but close enough to all the "action". My only complaint was the bed was squeaky and the sheets a little worn.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
A romantic hideaway in America’s most enchanting city, The Fulton Lane Inn is private, intimate and exceptionally accommodating. The Fulton Lane Inn surrounds you with the comfort and gracious ambiance of a bygone era. Many of our spacious rooms feature oversized whirlpool baths and luxurious canopied beds, draped with hand strung netting. Other rooms boast cathedral ceilings and several offer fireplaces.Throughout, soaring windows frame captivating vistas of the city's historic skyline, punctuated with the many trademark church spires. The charm and spirit of the Old South live on in this historic inn, built by the family of Confederate blockade runner John Rugheimer. Regarded as the most sophisticated city in America, antebellum Charleston was the cradle of Southern gentility. The proper Charleston home then welcomed summer's casual pace by covering formal furnishings in airy muslin, replacing wool carpets with sisal, and positioning shutters to admit fresh breezes and to provide gentle shade. At the Fulton Lane Inn, that spirit has been beautifully recaptured. Here, light filters softly through louvered shades, casting an inviting glow on lush plants. The patina of fine woods, natural textures and soft pastels invite you to indulge in the simple pleasures of a more gracious time. During your stay, you'll be pampered with complimentary continental breakfast delivered to your room each morning. Our traditional Southern hospitality continues with sherry in the lobby each evening. Of course, our concierge is always at hand to attend to your every need. You're just a mere stroll from the famous harbor, historic homes and attractions. The Fulton Lane Inn is situated just off King Street, tucked away on a pedestrian lane in the heart of the city's famous historic district. The inn is literally surrounded by countless fascinating boutiques, scores of antique shops and elegant restaurants. There are countless ways to enjoy the Fulton Lane Inn. ... more   less
