This was a wonderful Bed and Breakfast. We were driving through the city and decided to make a stop for the night. The property is very well maintained and is true Southern charm. From the time that you arrive until you leave they are gracious and eager to please. When we had checked in we did not like the room left in the main house. We were aware it was the only one left and booked over the phone. When we got there we asked to see the garden and East Wing rooms. All of them were very nice and well appointed. We were hoping for a fireplace since the weather had been chilly. They made it possible and moved us to a room with a fireplace. They offer wine and cheese in the evening which is standard for this type of hotel. Upscale all the way and good wines. The staff is great at assisting in dinning and other arrangements. We would stay here again.

Beautiful B&B with wonderful service. The mansion is absolutely gorgoeus with its original woodwork and stained glass. Stayed in a mansion room and was one of the largest rooms I've ever stayed in. It was especially nice to curl up on the lounger which looked out to the city...very cozy. Good wine and tasty snacks during their wine hour each day. Breakfast was buffet with smoked salmon, fruit, egg dish, bacon and sausages, shrimp with grits, waffles made to order and delicious pastries. Staff were extremely helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Only downside was that it was a little bit of a walk to the attractions and restaurants. In nice weather the walk is fine, but it got very cold a couple of the nights so we needed to take a cab. The B&B will call one for you -- be aware that if they call the "Black cabs" you will pay $10.00 to go to East Bay Street. Regular cabs cost less than $4.00 for the same trip. Also returning at night from dinner was a difficult time to get cabs. Best to walk to a hotel and ask for them to call you one. The sidewalk is uneven and lighting on Wentworth St makes walking at night tricky.
All in all a wonderful place to stay.

My wife and I spent four nights at the Wentworth for our honeymoon. The service was second to none. We would recommend the hotel to anyone, and we are planning another trip this summer.

In the middle of October, three female Canadian friends travelled to Charleston, South Carolina to celebrate their 60th Birthdays.

A better destination could NOT have been found, but the piece de resistance was the Wentworth Mansion we lodged in.
The architecture and decor of the mansion is very beautiful and impressive with its grandeur and Tiffany stained glass windows. All the rooms and suites are unique and individually furnished and overly large for extra comfort.

The staff were incredibly helpful, kind, and friendly.
Afternoon hors d'oevres with red and white wine were simply divine. Turn down service was special, with soft music playing, nighties arranged decoratively on the beds, and decadent chocolate truffles awaiting us.

Breakfast was filled with sumptuous choices and the Buffet was continually replenished.

Location of the mansion was ideal and we were able to walk almost everywhere and yet appreciated the quiet street we were located on.

Our 60th Birthday celebration will be remembered for many years to come, especially for the exquisite surrondings of the hotel (Mansion) and the charm and warm manner of all the staff!!!

Thank you, Wentworth.

Our stay at the Wentworth Mansion made my honeymoon dreams come true. The setting is beyond compare - the best of a Victorian mansion with the best of a five star hotel. This inn exceeded my expectations in every way. From the view from the 5th storey cupola to the impecable staff, our three day stay in Charleston was a dream! I can't wait for our anniversary to return to the Wentworth - I'm spoiled for staying anywhere else now!
