We stayed at the Vendue Inn for three nights to explore Charleston and surroundings. The hotel is very well situated near the waterfront and the main street with restaurants and things to do. Valet parking is truly recommended.
Service is generally good although we were just told basic things at reception where other guests got detailed info about what to see , do and all ammenities at the hotel.
Although the hotel is an old and historic building and therefore certain features need to be accepted (and are charming for that matter), the Vendue is due for renovation. The hall and reception area, the lift, the ceiling in the hallway and corridors, the carpets, all show signs of heavy wear and tear. Unworthy of a hotel that charges these rates. Our room was small and the bathroom as well. Also the bathroom gave a worn look and the shower tap had seen its best days as well. It fell off at a certain point. On top of that our toilet kept on running all night.
Breakfast for us came included and is truly great. Great service, excellent food, great choice. The pulled pork benedict (might sound uninviting in the morning, but ...) highly recommendable.
Again, we had expected more for these rates.More
