Beautiful hotel located perfectly in the French Quarter, with charming spacious rooms. Wonderful staff that went above and beyond to make you comfortable. I stayed in the rooms across the street from where you check in and that made no difference. You had your own key to the building so I always felt safe.

We spent 2 nights and 3 days in Charleston and we all were so happy we chose to stay at the Vendue Inn!! The energy they give to personally welcome you to the inn and make your stay enjoyable is outstanding. They even brought cookies to our room in the evening so that we wouldn't miss them!! The valets always knew your name and the waiters in the breakfast room could not have been more accommodating. The location of the hotel is perfect....right in the middle of great restaurants and an easy walk to all the tourist attractions. We parked the car and walked everywhere. The room was charming and the bathroom was updated.....a super shower!! The inn feels like an old restored building....small halls....but it is charming. On this trip the four of us stayed at many hotels and this was the best!! We paid about $300 + a night....but it was worth it. We definitely will stay there again when we return to Charleston!!

P.S. We were told that the inn is changing ownership and they are remodeling the restaurant/bar on the top of the building. Hope they don't change the ambience of the inn.

Room Tip: I saw two of the rooms and they were lovely....I feel you couldn't get a bad room.

It was our first vacation in 20 years without the kids; The pressure was on to find the PERFECT place to renew and rekindle in Charleston. Boom! Vendue Inn! From the free room upgrade to the gourmet breakfast ( Banana's Foster French Toast) on our last day, Vendue Inn made me feel like Charleston's savviest traveler. Our room had a king size feather bed that Charles II would have absconded , a classic cozy fireplace and a large whirlpool in the over-sized bathroom. The Inn itself is historic (as is everything in Charleston) romantic and perfectly located in the prime area of the city; just enough seclusion and excitement to suit your tastes. You can walk, bike or trolley anywhere in the city from Vendue. And the rooftop bar at Vendue rivals any in my hometown of Chicago. The staff is very down to earth and friendly but always makes you feel like a VIP. Charleston is a city that loves it's history and it's tourists , there is too much to do in a five day stay, but Vendue Inn is the perfect place to savor the city and create your own history. Only minor negatives= windows did not open; one loose tile in the bathroom that was wobbly strangely bothered me ,

The great service began before we left home when we received a call from the concierge Robby with an offer to book restaurants or tours. We arrived in Charleston late in the afternoon but he was still able to book an historic tour for that day. His restaurant recommendation Blossom had fresh seafood at a reasonable price and was a short walk from the hotel. I loved the fresh shrimp sandwich at lunch for only $7. The calamari at dinner was beautifully cooked (not rubbery.) The breakfasts (cooked to order) at the Vendue Inn were amazing. The goat cheese quiche and French toast foster with bananas and creamy praline sauce were great. Unfortunately, weather did not permit us to enjoy the rooftop restaurant in the hotel. The location is excellent as restaurants, shops and the central market are within walking distance. The hotel has so much character with period furnishings and a huge bathroom with tub and separate shower. The room keys are actual brass keys. Parking is difficult in the historic district but not to worry. I never saw where the valet Crosby put the car but he brought it out quickly when we needed it and did not hesitate to retrieve an item we accidentally left in the car. Another example of the wonderful service was our problem with a non-working hairdryer in the bathroom. The service person arrived very soon after our call to the desk. He determined it needed replacing and quickly brought us a new dryer. My husband and I and our two friends loved our experience at the Vendue Inn. We feel that the quality, character, location, and service warranted the price.

Room Tip: Try to stay in the main building. We had to stay in the part that was across the street which was s...

My wife and I stayed here for a 3-day getaway based on a recommendation from a family member, and it was fantastic. The service is second to none, as they treat you like family and are extremely welcoming. The hotel is in a great location, right near many restaurants, the pier on the Charleston Harbor to watch the dolphins at sunset, the market, and the historic homes. We were able to walk/bike everywhere. No cabs except to get to/from the airport. The concierge contacted me via email prior to our visit to help set up any reservations or plans that we wanted as well. Great overall service!!!!

The Inn provided complimentary bicycles, which we used to go ride over the bridge to Mount Pleasant. While the bikes are nothing more than single gear basic beach cruisers (and not ideal for an exercise ride), they are free, and as such that's a very nice amenity.

By joining the Loyalty Program (at no cost), we got a Southern breakfast included as part of our room rate. This was another great amenity that probably saved use about $20-30/day. Note that I recently got an email saying that management is changing hands and this loyalty program may be no longer soon. Something to ask about.

Our room was somewhat small, but perfectly fine for our needs, clean, and comfortable. We liked have manager's reception in the early evenings, and having the Rooftop Bar as part of the hotel. A great atmosphere with nice views and a good place to relax if the weather is nice.

The only two minor downsides were: 1) the pillows were uncomfortable (not firm enough) for our tastes; 2) the lock on the hotel room door didn't feel all that secure. However, upon providing this feedback in a post-stay survey, I got a personal response from the manager thanking me for the input and indicating that the lock would be fixed and that guests can request alternative pillows/bedding to meet personal comfort needs.

I would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat if I were to go back to Charleston, and for couples, I highly recommend it. Probably not as ideal for families.

This place was such a breath of fresh air. The concierge staff was just awesome. Really made you feel welcome. Our room was small, but it had everything we needed. Including a bottle of champagne!! We were there for our wedding anniversary and they were kind enough to leave a little note congratulating us, as well as a bottle of champagne. Talk about good service! If only more places treated their customers like this! I was so pleased here, I can't wait to visit again. Customer for life!

quite, friendly, willing to help. free wine and cheese ever nite,4 till 5pm. a nice breakfast menu priced about the same as any restaurant . and good too.
we had a Jr. suite. it was very nice, but the blinds left too much light light in ..all nite long, from the rooftop bars and street lights. that is my only complaint.

Room Tip: close to everything, and free trollies
