I highly recommend the Vendue Inn to anyone looking for the southern hospitality Charleston is known for. I had planned this trip months in advance for mine and my wife's anniversary. I made a small note in the booking process telling them what we were in town for. Susie and her staff took it upon themselves to make sure that I new they cared about it being a special weekend for us. In our room they had champagne and a note of congratulations on 14 years together. This at no extra cost. The staff welcomed us warmly and are very knowledgable, able to answer any question we had whether it be about the inn or the city. Valet parking was easy and affordable. With all the good things I have to say about the inn the 9:00 cookies and milk may actually be the reason we stay there next time. They were delicious. Location is great, walking distance from the water, all the best restaurants and history of downtown Charleston.

What a great location, close to great restaurants and shops. You are in the middle of everything at the Vendue Inn.
Our room was on the small side but the location made up for it. Breakfast was good but nothing to write home about.

We stayed two nights recently and I can honestly say this was one of my favorite B&B experiences. The bellman who welcomed us had a vast knowledge of the area and gave great recommendations. He also remembered our names throughout the stay and demonstrated a warmth rarely seen these days in travel.
The rooms were cozy and the bed was very comfortable. It felt like you were staying in a guestroom at a close friend's home. It was fun to be able to go up to the Rooftop Bar and have amazing views of the city. I have already recommended the Vendue to my parents who will be travelling to the area soon.

We enjoyed our stay at the Vendue Inn immensely. We had a wonderful breakfast every day, and enjoyed the happy hour. Charleston proved to be a really relaxing city, and the Vendue Inn was a good place to come back to after a day of touring and dining. Our suite was really large, and the bed comfortable. The Inn is centrally located and we had access within walking distance to all of the sights of Charleston. I would recommend a horse drawn carriage ride thru the neighborhoods. It was very relaxing and informative. I would recommend the Vendue Inn 100%.

Room Tip: We had a separate living room with a fireplace which we used in the cooler evenings.

I stayed in the John Rutledge room for one night while I was in town to help plan a wedding. The Vendue is in a great part of town, very central to a lot of the attractions and restaurants. This hotel has an old-world, european charm, so if you like sleek, modern and new, The Vendue won't be for you. It's basically like staying in one of the Charleston residences, furnished with antique-like decor and original wood floors (that creak). I slept well after I realized the trick of leaving on the bathroom fan with the door shut. The walls are thin and you can hear people walking/talking in the hallways.
All that being said, I think the hotel is a little on the expensive side for what you get.

This was the most relaxing visit to Charleston that we have had. Oh the bed was the most comfy we have ever slept in. The whole experience was superb. The breakfast was delish. Natasha was the most gracious server. I would recommend the Vendue Inn and hope to return there again soon. The evening wine and cheese was also wonderful. They do have bikes for any one that wants to get around town on a bike. Do stop by the roof top bar that the Vendue has.

We stayed two nights in a traditional king room. We were pleasantly surprised to find when we got to our room, that we had a separate sitting room adjoining our bedroom. It felt like an up-grade but perhaps this comes with some of the rooms. It was lovely! This is a historic hotel, so it is not modern and new - but it is comfortable and has so much character. The bed was wonderful - like sleeping on a giant cloud!
Milk and cookies in the evening was a wonderful touch and the citrus waters that are available in the lobby during the day were so refreshing.
Location is A+++. Shops and Restaurants within walking distance.
The staff definitely gets customer service. They work hard to exceed your expectations and succeed! From check-in to check-out, southern hospitality at its best.
