“How to NOT wait for breakfast...”
Reviewed April 27, 2014

All the fantastic reviews before me and the fact that we ate breakfast there on FOUR separate occasions speak to the food quality, taste and service. So I wont rehash all the wonderful food choices; their menu is on line...

Here is what you need to know if you don't want to wait in line for breakfast (they open at 0600 daily):

1. No Reservations
2. Arrive before 0830! After that; no promises!
3. They only seat parties that are COMPLETE. If you walk in to put your name on the wait list, but a table becomes available and one member of your party is 'parking' the car, you will not get that round of seats. You will have to wait a while longer until every one has arrived and a new table is free
4. After you check in...EVERYONE has to wait outside; rain or shine and there is minimal shelter to protect you from the elements

Get there before 0830 and enjoy the great food and service! We Did!

“Expensive Breakfast”
Reviewed April 27, 2014

This was my most expensive breakfast in Charleston and not worth the cost. I had grits, corn beef hash and a buttermilk biscuit. The service was great - very friendly staff was fun to chat with and knew a lot about the city. Toast also opens very early, so if you're an early riser its one of the only places open. I was just disappointed in the food, which was average and way over priced.

“Better than Grandma's”
Reviewed April 27, 2014 via mobile

No offense Grandma, but Toast is the only place to go for great food, excellent service and best atmosphere in downtown Charleston!

Our server, Casey, had the best attitude and kept us laughing throughout our visit!

Kudos to Sharon Homann and team for making Toast our weekly destination for dining!!!

“It's ok”
Reviewed April 27, 2014

Eggs benedict, mimosa, and blood mary were good. We asked about crabcakes before ordering, waiter said all crab and no filler, but they had a lot of filler. Taste ok, but not what I think of as real crabcakes. Crab dip is more of a chicken salad consistency than a dip one; tastes ok.
Overall it's ok; not great, not bad
