We have always loved Toast -- it is a must-eat every time we are in Charleston. We had our rehearsal dinner here this past Friday and were beyond impressed with every aspect of the evening.
They hosted our 30 guests in the back dining room without any extra fees or minimum payments (every other restaurant on the peninsula had a minimum of at least $2000 or a room fee of $500-$700). They went out of their way to design and print menus which we customized for our event, ensured that the Friday night live music wouldn't interfere and introduced us to the manager and assistant manager in case we needed anything.
The service was wonderful, with two servers dedicated to our party. Everyone raved about the food. We had put a couple of breakfast items on our menu, not expecting anyone to order them since it was dinner time but several people thought this was really cool and did order breakfast.
We personally had the pork chops and the seared ribeye steak which were both delicious.
The decor and atmosphere are casual but very nice. Overall, I think Toast was the perfect location for our rehearsal dinner and would be for any other budget-minded wedding planners. And it will of course continue to be our favorite breakfast place in Charleston the next time we visit.
