Went for a walk not knowing what I would find. Saw the church and realized it had been there a long time. Next to the church is a cemetery with many old old headstones. Saw the grave of one of the signers of the Constitution. It started to rain so I had to leave. Plan to return next time I am in Charleston.

Historic Church where George Washington worshiped while visiting Charleston. We prowled the graveyard located next to the church to find many unusual headstones, incuding a signer of the Declaration of Independence and a signer of the Succession of the Confederacy. History all around you...go & enjoy!

One of the oldest churches in Charleston, the tall spire is visible for miles. Inside, you could look at the beautiful windows for hours. and the rest of the interior is gorgeous, as well. The church has a graveyard surrounding it with many notable historic figures buried there. The 18th century structure is where George Washington is reported ot have worshiped...

If the doors are open at St. Michael's, do not hesitate to go inside. This is one of/ if not the most beautiful church that I have been to in Charleston. Make sure to read the plaques, there is a lot of history here.

We went to Palm Sunday services here to revisit a place we knew my wife's grandmother had gone to Christmas services in the first decade of the 20th century. We got a friendly reception. The Church itself is well worth seeing. We learned somewhat to our dismay that the congregation has left the US Episcopal Church
