My wife had never before seen a swamp. Plenty of wildlife to view on the tram tour around the grounds, including alligators and birds.

The gardens here are absolutely stunning and well worth a visit. It was fifteen dollars per person to see the petting zoo and walk the gardens - everything else was extra so we paid an extra 8 dollars each to tour the house too. The walks around the gardens were beautiful and the river walk which is a bit long so be aware but well worth it as we saw several alligators basking in the sun on the platforms in the river and a baby one which was about 3 feet long ran across the path in front of us! This was a wonderful way to spend a few hours.

The garden tour was a bit disappointing. We saw some wildlife but not many plants were in bloom. Late spring would be a much better experience.

Beautiful gardens and some great tours. But it is pricey, so plan ahead. I definitely recommend the boat trip, it was pleasant, informative and picturesque.

Toured the plantation and did the slave tour in quick time. Found the slave tour, while informative, was disappointing. Not much to see with the buildings, only 5 in total with not much inside. If you want to see a plantation and really appreciate how life was for slaves head to New Orleans to the Laura Plantation. Best we have seen by far. Save your money, this is more appropriate for horticultural enthusiasts as the grounds are a massive park with a great variety of plants.
