“Oldest in the country”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

Though pretty small, this is the oldest museum in the country, which automatically ups the cool factor for me! The combo price is pretty good ($22 for three museums, or $10 each individually), and they have a whale skeleton hanging up. Take a look!

“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2014

Great place to get a break from the heat and give yourself a self guided tour of Charleston's history. Great things for kids to do upstairs including dress like colonial Charlestonians dress like confederate soldiers and more.

“Worth a Visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014

While Charleston is a small city, I thought they did a reasonably good job with what they had to work with. Nice two story facility that was well maintained. Helpful and passionate staff.

“Great museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014

I really enjoyed the short videos they had about plantation life they were very educational and entertaining. It was fun to peruse the artifacts while listening/watching the videos. I wish there had been more videos near the Civil War areas.
