Very good docents, lovingly restored rooms and the dungeons to tell the story of Charleston. Thought I was at Disneyland with some of the figures in the scenes but hey, I couldn't have done better and it helps the children experience it better.

“A must for history buffs!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2013 via mobile

If you enjoy history, this is a must! We passed by it on our first day in Charleston and thought it looked interesting. After reading reviews, we decided to return and do the tour. So much history within these walls! The guided tour of the dungeon was very interesting and our guide was very knowledgeable. We also enjoyed visiting the third floor where George Washington was received on his visit here.

Very good spot for the history buffs. Although brief, we enjoyed the guided tour and history of it. Walkable from Market and French Quarter areas.

“Old history of the area”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2013

The Dungeon is a historical tour with a knowledgeable guide. The building has some of the original walls in the lower dungeon which was interesting to see. Many notables were held prisoner in the Dungeon; some of them were women mixed in among rough characters such as pirates. I shudder to think of what it must have been like for those females.

“One of my favorites”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2013

This had to be one of my favorite historical things to do in Charleston. It was amazing to see some of the exposed original city wall and to know I was in the same building where George Washington and numerous pirates and historical figures had been!
