The experience at Harbourview Inn located in the very pristine downtown Charleston South Carolina, Fabulous! Like most get aways the journey is long and by the time you get to your destination all you wish for is a nice place to rest and recharge.(a good cup of coffee helps this personal goal). When you arrived at the Inn there is someone waiting "Johnny on the spot" to help with parking and the luggage. You are then guided to the ever so neatly decorated lobby , check in is quick and painless. The conciser is smiling and very gracious. From that point it is off to the room but not before getting a very delicious cup of coffee supplied in the hotels atrium 24/7. The room....boy oh boy...the room! Fabulous...just fabulous! Two poster beds maded up in "southern style" quilted comforter sets just scream.. come lie down and rest. Exposed brick from the centuries old building is charming and goes very well with the rest of the decor. The bath is nice and big.( if you are a girl ..this is a 6 star bathroom)lots of space big mirror and spa tub! Heaven....just like heaven. The staff is nice and they look like they enjoy being there.(that meants alot and says so much about the business)
I could go on and on about my visit however I will end the story hear and you can go make your own story in downtown Charleston!
Over all, it was the apitamy of SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY!

Sincerely,
Mrs.Billiejo Cox of Lynchburg,Virginia

Had never been to the area before, so not sure how it compares to other places. It was easy to find. We were greeted by a smiling bellman, and continued to receive fabulous service for the duration of our stay. This place is clean, quiet, and charming. Enjoyed the candy (chocolates like peanut M&Ms), fruit, ice tea, gourmet hot teas, and coffee that was always available in the lobby and atrium. Also, wine and cheese with strawberries is served from 5-6, milk & cookies before bed time, and continental style breakfast delivered to your room at the time you choose (all are complimentary). The front desk is staffed with the nicest people we have met in a long time. This place is worth the money. Central to the best retaurants, aquarium, Fort Sumter. Complimentary computer with printer is available in the lobby as well. We would stay there again anytime. It is worth the money. Charleston was wonderful. Thanks Harbourview Inn for making our trip so memorable!

Highly recommend this wonderful property. Great location near waterfront, shops, restaurants, etc. Helpful, gracious staff. Lots of attention to detail (refreshments all day long, free computer/internet access, wine & cheese hour and excellent breakfast). Would make it my hotel of choice for Charleston.

We stayed at the HVI to celebrate our anniversary. It is in a great location. Shops and restaurants are all within easy walking distance. The front desk was extremely helpful with tour information and made fabulous restaurant recommendations. They even made reservations for us every night during our stay which was a nice bonus.

The room was very spacious, clean, and generally comfortable. I do have two complaints, but they weren't that big a deal. The biggest was that the room adjoined the elevator shaft. We kept hearing the "whir" of the elevator going through the wall (not conducive to sleeping late). It wasn't bothersome enough for us to ask to be moved however. The second was the view. I didn't book a "waterfront" room, but also wasn't expecting to see a big power sub-station outside the window. Again, not a huge deal for us though.

Overall, it was a good stay and we're likely to return if we get a good rate again in the future. I don't think I would pay "full price" though.

I went to Charleston for 4 days, and was incredibly comfortable at the Harborview. Particularly since I was travelling alone, the afternoon wine and cheese was a good opportunity to talk to some other visitors, and the guys at the front desk helped me plan a couple of things. Breakfast on the rooftop was another nice touch. I was quite relaxed, and felt like they were looking out for me, without being intrusive.

We stayed at Harbourview this past June and it was a wonderful experience. We asked for and got a front room and it looked right out to the harbour and was large and well furnished. The Tempur-Pedic bed was wonderful, make up with double sheets, light down comforter and lots of pillows - made us feel very pampered. The staff was very helpful and attentive and the location is superb - walking distance to all of the historic district. As we walked around town, we saw the other places we had considered, all of them with high ratings and good reviews, and were so glad we chose Harbourview.
The Harbourview is a small hotel - just the right size.
We wouldn't consider any other place in Charleston to stay.

Our stay at the hotel was wonderful. The hotel was beautiful and full of historical charm. We enjoyed the beautiful view and location... and the service was great. We appreciated the wine and cookies. The associates at the desk were very friendly and gracious. We definitely will return to Harbourview Inn for additional stays.
