Great inn..the best location... The best service. Andrew Pinckney has it all. Aaron at the front desk was very helpful with Dinner recommendations and reservations. All of the staff were friendly, smiling and helpful. I would absolutely stay here again. We stayed on the 3rd floor, had a great view , plenty of room, some street noise but overall very peaceful

We recently stayed at the Inn and couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. A lovely room in an historic building, gracious staff and a fine complimentary breakfast all at an extremely reasonable price. A block from the market, the Inn is within walking distance to many fine restaurants, galleries, shops and sights. I would not hesitate to recommend the Inn to anyone.

We spent four nights at the Andrew Pinckney Inn, and loved it. Our room was in the historic building across the street from the historic main inn and registration area. It was a small third floor room, but charming, and it faced the pretty street. It had a comfortable bed, modern bathroom, and wide plank floor boards dating from the 1830's. The building has a modern annex with an atrium and I do not know what those rooms look like. The "continental breakfast" was way more than continental -- always had an interesting southern hot dish (e.g. French toast or egg casserole), as well as biscuits and gravy and the usual pastries, yogurt and bagels. It was served on the outdoor rooftop porch. Even though it was chilly while we were there, we just bundled up and ate outside, enjoying the view. There were trays if you wanted to take the breakfast back to your room or the lounge. The breakfast manager was cheery and attentive. Valet parking was $20/night, not bad for the historic district. The market was just a block or two away. Great location!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the street. I believe our room number was 304. Small but charming.

It is a delight to know that you found the Andrew Pinckney Inn to be most charming and our location in the historic district most convenient. As you mentioned the breakfast on our Rooftop Terrace is a wonderful way to start your day with the great views onto the Market and nearby harbor. We appreciate you taking the time to share your comments and hope to see you again in the near future.

This is one of those hotels that is mostly good and which could be great except for one significant defect that tended to otherwise mar what could have been an excellent experience. We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights at the end of December – a family of 4 on a driving tour around the American South. The Andrew Pinckney Inn is very nicely situated close to the heart of Charleston – most of the main sights of this delightful city were within walking distance. On arrival we were greeted warmly and had arrived just in time for coffee and fresh cookies – a nice treat after the drive from Savannah. We were then given the keys to our rooms which were situated in the building across the road from the main reception. Our rooms were on the second floor situated beside a small atrium area. Our room was small but cosy and nicely furnished with a very nice bathroom (which was nearly as large as the main room – possibly because it was designated as a wheelchair accessible room). The room shared by our teenage children was close to ours, was larger, and contained two queen beds. Breakfast was included in the room price and was served on the open terrace of the 4th floor of the building we were in. It was a buffet-style enhanced continental breakfast so you could help yourself to whatever you wanted from the selection – so our son was able to fuel himself up for the morning! It was nice to be able to sit out and have breakfast overlooking the rooftops of Savannah – and on one of the mornings we could see a large cruise ship moored in the distance. The hotel only offers valet parking ($20 per night) – we used this both for convenience and in the belief that it would be safer than parking in the nearby public lot. (On the first night our car was parked in the small hotel lot; on the second I discovered that it had been parked in the public lot). Overall so far everything was pretty positive. And now for the main issue: our room was a totally inside room with no window except for a small window which overlooked the small internal atrium. The room our children were in was similar, except that it at least also had a small window that allowed in some natural light from outside. Now I’ve been in hotels where the rooms looked out on nearby brick walls but at least had some natural light coming in directly from outside; but a totally interior room was new to me. The soundproofing in the room was also very poor – sometimes people congregated drinking wine and having snacks in the atrium seating area which was just outside our door (and only window) and it was as if they were in the same room – luckily this didn’t go on until too late at night; and on one of the nights the father in the adjacent room was giving his child a very late night bath and you could clearly hear the bath running, followed by the child’s screams and giggles and the father’s singing! It would not have been so bad if we had been a last-minute booking, but our room was booked by our travel agent many months in advance! At checkout, I was asked how was asked how my stay was. I said that I was shocked to have been given a totally-inside room. The other person looked at me blankly for a while before answering “well that’s the luck of the draw” and immediately returning to his paperwork. Not exactly the pinnacle of good and caring customer service. So you could have a good stay at the Andrew Pinckney – it is convenient, nicely furnished and has a good breakfast included – but make sure that you don’t have a totally interior room!

Room Tip: Make sure you don't get a fully interior room

Thank you so much for choosing the Andrew Pinckney Inn on your recent trip to Charleston. We are delighted to know that you enjoyed your stay. Please keep in mind that the queen room with interior views that you recently stayed in was the result of you requesting that your two rooms be located close together with your teenage children being nearby in a room with two double beds. The few number of rooms combined with the various room types per floor would limit your selection based upon your special request. Thank you again for choosing the Andrew Pinckney Inn on your recent trip to the USA.

We really enjoyed our stay at this Inn. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. Our room was not huge, but it was fine for us. We stayed in the building across the street from check-in, right down the hall from the morning breakfast, which was yummy! The only "bad" thing about our room is that it was an interior room, and didn't have a window. Not a deal breaker! The Inn's location is IDEAL. My husband is slightly handicapped, and can't walk a ton, but we were able to walk to Market street AND over to King street for shopping there as well. Really, for the price and location, this should be your first pick!!!
