“Great value for the location”

Great location with wonderful beds. The rooms are dated but clean. Close to The Market, downtown attractions, restaurants, and pubs. Free on-site parking. Toast is next door which has a wonderful breakfast menu.

It was beyond acceptable The room was musty and is in desperate need of a renovation. For $200 a night I expected a lot more and I was really disappointed. We ended up not staying in the room, so a waste of $400 or half glass full we had great parking for the weekend. I expected so much more.

Room Tip: Dont stay here.

My husband and I stay at this motel every time we come to Charleston; which is once or twice a year. It meets our needs and expectations every time.
The Down Side: It is a 2-story motel with stairs; no elevator. It does not have a private restaurant with a garden courtyard, and a tinkling fountain. It does not have a fine lobby, nor a concierge, nor room service. It is a Motor Hotel. You get one parking spot for each room, and you will take your own luggage in.
The Up Side: Location: It is downtown on Meeting Street, about one-half block south of the Market, and all those famous basket-weaving ladies. There are many, many, fine and casual restaurants, bars, shops, churches, museums, historic homes within steps out of your door.
Upside: Comfort: The beds and pillows are very comfortable!
They have some rooms reserved for either smokers or pet owners. No, I do not bring my dog on vacation, but, Yes, I love to smoke a cigarette! The smoking/pet rooms do not smell; the rooms are clean.
Upside: Courtesy: The front-desk staff are always friendly and helpful. They have twice allowed us to leave our car parked in the lot after we checked out at 11am, when we wanted to do some more walking before we left the city.
Love this Days Inn!

Room Tip: Smoking/pet rooms available. Economical rooms. Wonderful downtown Charleston location.

Our room wasn't ready so we had to take a room with two full sized beds instead of a queen. Our toilet handle was hanging loose. Wall paper coming off the wall. Noisy due to a truck running idle all night. On the positive side it is in a good location and Toast was right next door and had a great breakfast menu.

Excellent location! It is in the historic district, and you can easily walk to all the local attractions (City Market, Waterfront Park), or take the free shuttle. There are numerous good restaurants nearby, one being right next to the hotel. BUT.... the hotel is old. The room looks and smells old, and looks like it is slowly undergoing renovation. There is a new tub, and the water pressure from the shower was strong. The price is right considering there are many hotels that were over $300/night in the area. It was nice to have free parking, and a microwave and mini fridge in the room.
