We were in Charleston for our 20th anniversary and were pleased with the room overall, however the water pressure and bath fixtures left something to be improved upon. Still would stay here again.

This hotel is located within walking distance of the Historic District - which when on a girls trip is one of the first requirements of a hotel. We parked the car and didn't have to move it all weekend. We did get a discounted rate for our weekend trip by shopping around, which made us really not mind the basic accommodations - an added plus was the free parking. The room could use some updating, and there was a strange sticky spot on the carpet (we put the bath mat over the spot and didn't think much more about it.) The front desk clerk was very helpful in giving us directions and making restaurant recommendations. The restaurant "Toast" located in the restaurant is definitely worthy of the long lines if you don't get an early start in the morning.
If your needs are simply basic accommodations, this is the place - if you're looking for pampering - try elsewhere.

The place is located within walking distance of all the sites in Historic Charleston. There are more nearby restaurants than you can possibly try in one visit. This place is priced so traveling families can afford to stay downtown in the Historic District. It has a pool and free parking. With that said, we were never resupplied with the proper types or amounts of towels, they ran us out of toilet paper, tissues and "sink" supplies. The bathroom door didn't close and you could stick your hand under the entrance door allowing rain to run into the room one afternoon and who knows what could have crawled into the room. Be prepared to fit in a double bed. The rooms are too small to allow queen size beds. The TV was of the old crt type and had a lousy picture laced with static. In regard to all the comments about smell, our room had a deodorizer on the wall that filled the room with a strong soapy smell to cover any "bad" smells.

I stayed for four nights during the last week of June. The location is excellent as I did not need to use a car to see the attractions. I walked, used the water taxi and rode from the visitor center to the places I wanted to see. My room was a double on the first floor. It was comfortable, clean and the AC worked. I was very impressed with the staff as they helped out whenever I needed help. And they did it with a smile. Thank you Quila, Star and Donae!!!!! The price easliy beat the other hotels in this district which allowed me to stay an extra night in Charleston.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is satisfied with a reasonable hotel at a nice price.
