“Great location, friendly staff, and nice rooms”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2013

Stayed here during the Copper River Bridge run weekend. You cant beat the location, walkable to all the great restaurants, bars, waterfronts, carriage ride stations, and the street market.
I was upgraded to the suite #273, very nice room and turn down service was excellent. Noise from the street and upstairs can be loud but that’s what you get staying downtown.
Parking is very limited; valet parking is $22 daily.
Will stay here again!

Great location.
Serious upgrade needed in fitness center.
Rooms spacious and great value. Furniture needs improvement.
Phones did not work in the room. Heard lots of "noise" from the adjacent room.
Staff was polite. Breakfast was good.
Conference facility was good.

This hotel is in the heart of Charleston. The layout of the hotel is strange but it must be from the preservation of older historic buildings. The rooms are different from section to section but it is a very clean hotel. There is a nice, relaxing courtyard in the center of the hotel that is great if you feel the need to escape the cruise ship crowds. This hotel is right next to the market and 2 blocks from King Street. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I recently stayed one night at this hotel, using my Hiltons Honors points. I had originally booked three nights but had to cancel the third night. Because I canceled that night, the price of the second night increased to almost $300!! (Thanks go a "special rate" at another hotel, I saved over $100 on an even nicer room!)

Anyway, like I said in the title, this is my forth stay at this hotel and the main reason I choose to stay here is because of the awesome location. It's walking distance to everything in the historic district. Park the car and go!

This stay I was given a room with a small balcony. The room was small but fine for one night. It did overlook Meeting street(?) But the noise didn't bother me.

The bed was very comfortable. The carpet looked new. The bathroom was huge (as are the bathrooms in the building adjacent to the main wing). The only issue I had--and this is a biggie for me--is the bathroom wasn't all that clean. I had to get hair out of the tub before I took a shower. I also saw hair on several of the clean wash clothes!! Gross!

The staff at this hotel are extremely helpful and friendly and paired with the great location, I would probably stay here again.

Very nice hotel in good location. The staff was both friendly and helpful. The only downside is the high charge for parking. Nice restaurants within walking distance. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant for breakfast as it was more expensive than others in the area. This was a reunion for myself and my two sisters. We needed the fold out couch in the sitting room to comfortably accomodate us. This option was one of the reasons for choosing the Doubletree. The rooms were large enough to be comfortable. I would stay at this hotel again when I am in Charleston. The price was good based on many others in the historic district. We were able to find shopping and dining within walking distance of the hotel. The market place is just steps from the hotel. There are also many tour offices just around the corner which makes it easy to explore and arrange tours. The hotel will also advise regarding tours and will also schedule them if requested. They are also helpful with dining recommendations and direction to restakurants and other attractions. Charleston is a great city and well worth a visit. If you plan on visiting this beautiful city consider staying at the Doubletree hotel.

I have stayed here a number of times. The staff is very helpful and will make reservations if you need them. The hotel is between the main shopping street (King St) and a street that has some of the better restaurants in town (East Bay).

We stayed here on the dime of Bluegreen Vacations, so the price was right and the location was excellent. We had double queen suite with a fold out couch for the four of us (2 adults, 2 teenage girls), the front desk blked at giving us a roll away but finally relented. The room was ground level and the first room on the courtyard. There was a letter wrning against break-ins, however, we did not have 'problem'. The bedroom was small and difficult for jus two of us to get around, can't imagine what it would have been like for 4!, the living area was nice enough but a bit dated. I agree with "rtrump" review that Quality was somehow missing. The front desk and the bell staff were friendly and helpful. The underground garage was quite an experience and would hesitate to send my wife or daughter to the car.

As I said we were there on Bluegreen's dime, which is a time-share deal and something I will avoid in the future.

Charleston is a great city and we look forward to returning!
