Description: Butcher & Bee started out serving honest-to-goodness sandwiches made with flavor combinations and food quality usually reserved for fine dining. Now their offerings have grown beyond sandwiches to all types of foods. And they bring them to you from local farmers who produce spectacular flavors. Supporting local and sustainable is not a slogan. It's the right thing to do, and the food tastes better for it.

For many years, Butcher and Bee was a somewhat eclectic sandwich shop; since it relied on local fresh ingredients that they happened to have available, the chalkboard menu was variable, and a past favorite couldn't be counted on. Butcher and Bee has recently relocated to a newly renovated building, and the result was fantastic. The interior is bright, airy and everything literally gleams, especially the large copper wall hanging over the open kitchen. The clean, beautiful space primes one to relax and enjoy the clean, beautiful food. An earnest server was knowledgeable, and was able to explain the details of the dishes. Largely still locally-sourced, the dishes we ordered were wonderful - a tagliatelle pasta with fava beans, summer squash, and a very light lemon cream sauce for my son, for me it was a beautiful seafood salad of shrimp, caalmari and mahi complemented by sprigs of basil and mint (it came with a coconut sauce, which I asked them to leave off), and a lovely mushroom mixture with garlic, hazelnuts and tarragon that we shared. When you are still thinking about a meal several days out, you know you'll have to go back soon - and we will!!

Butcher & Bee has moved to a new spot and the service and food were both excellent. Several of us came here for lunch after a Spoleto concert and really enjoyed it - smoked trout sandwich, green salad with mahi - delicious!
The staff could not have been more accommodating. Bravo to all of them!

Sat at the bar and watched the chefs cook and prep. Had whipped feta with house made pita! Delicious!
Rose and a white that the wait staff recommended. Again, spot on.
Snap beans and an entree which were so fresh and delicious. Presented well. Was able to enjoy our time dining and get out in plenty of time for the opera.
Will definitely be back. Now they are open for lunch and dinner!

My husband and I checked out Butcher and Bee after reading the great reviews and we were not disappointed! We both had delicious sandwiches! The menu is limited, but any of the options are delicious. Definitely recommend!
