For many years, Butcher and Bee was a somewhat eclectic sandwich shop; since it relied on local fresh ingredients that they happened to have available, the chalkboard menu was variable, and a past favorite couldn't be counted on. Butcher and Bee has recently relocated to a newly renovated building, and the result was fantastic. The interior is bright, airy and everything literally gleams, especially the large copper wall hanging over the open kitchen. The clean, beautiful space primes one to relax and enjoy the clean, beautiful food. An earnest server was knowledgeable, and was able to explain the details of the dishes. Largely still locally-sourced, the dishes we ordered were wonderful - a tagliatelle pasta with fava beans, summer squash, and a very light lemon cream sauce for my son, for me it was a beautiful seafood salad of shrimp, caalmari and mahi complemented by sprigs of basil and mint (it came with a coconut sauce, which I asked them to leave off), and a lovely mushroom mixture with garlic, hazelnuts and tarragon that we shared. When you are still thinking about a meal several days out, you know you'll have to go back soon - and we will!!
