We stayed at the Bloomsbury Inn recently and loved it! The history of the home itself is impressive, but the innkeepers, Bruce and Katherine Brown, is what makes it a gem! The breakfast Katherine makes each morning is worth the trip to Camden itself! Bruce is extremely knowledgable about local history and the important history of the home/inn. The home is stunning, grand and charming and the innkeepers graciousness and southern hospitality makes the experience and stay at The Bloomsbury Inn priceless!

South Carolina is steeped in history. Charleston is usually the first of our cities and towns that come to mind for a romantic get-a-way with a touch of history. However, the Bloomsbury Inn is an absolute jewel set in the midlands of South Carolina. The Inn is immaculate and well preserved with interesting furnishing collected over the life time of the proprietors. Socializing in the pallor made us feel like we were making a call on neighbors. Bruce and Katherine are delightful conversationalists. Breakfast was wonderful, both the food and the history talk. We loved it and will be back.

- Did a gently fairy transform my world into a delightful dream? Our enchantment began upon entering the welcoming, open white gates of Bloomsbury Inn, as we slowly drove across the bright pebble driveway into the well-manicured gardens. Tall, timeless, gnarly, moss-draped trees offered a welcome canopy of shade, as we unloaded our luggage amidst the sunlit specks of light that danced across the ground. Those last, golden rays of the late afternoon sun cascaded over the stately house that was to become our castle for the night. And as warm as that gilded shine was the greeting by our hosts, Katherine and Bruce, as they welcomed us into their realm. The immediate sense of home was palpable in every room - one more beautifully adorned than the other. I sensed that above-mentioned transformation again: did time reverse itself and carried me back to my childhood home, amidst that picturesque Zuber wallpaper, the time-honored memorabilia and the precious collections of antique furniture and fine china, such as I knew from the days of yonder? I needed to pinch myself into the arm, as to make sure all of this ageless marvel was: reality! The camera function on my iPhone assured me that, yes, we've arrived. - Oh! Just in time for that delicious 5:30 high tea & wine on the idyllic front porch, accompanied by some delicious hors d'oeuvres, not to forget those fresh-picked, bright-red strawberries - yumm! The ensuing, genuinely warm-hearted conversation with our hosts was as animated as it was lively, it made us appreciate our graceful hosts even more. Our well-appointed, elegant yet cozy room, "The General's Chamber", offered every amenity one could dream of. No attention to detail was spared - the magic continued. Unforgettable: that most delicious, lovingly prepared breakfast that awaited us in the morning! All senses are touched in wonderful ways within this truly mesmerizing place: The Bloomsbury Inn!

Room Tip: Select a bed & breakfast located in a quiet, historic neighborhood.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit to the Bloomsbury Inn. This is a top notch B&B and Bruce and Katherine are excellent hosts. The Bloomsbury Inn is decorated in period antiques and the rooms are spacious and exceptionally clean. The social hour was an entertaining event and the hosts provided excellent information on local history and restaurants. The breakfast was superb. This B&B provides a wonderful location in the historic and scenic town of Camden.

I highly recommend Bloomsbury Inn not just as a romantic get away, but if you're in town for business. The Innkeepers, Bruce and Katherine, are very generous hosts. You will also be impressed at the great care they have taken to preserve this beautiful house, and it's history. Katherine made the most delicious breakfasts every morning, and every evening guests could wind down with a glass of wine and great conversation on the porch before heading out to dinner.
