I stayed in the Sally Chestnut Chamber and loved it. Very spacious and comfortable on all accounts. Enjoyed wine during a 'social time' with the inn keepers along with an amazing breakfast in the morning. The food was more than plentiful and delicious. It's a tad on the expensive side compared to other local places to stay. But I've only stayed here in this town, so I can't compare on services and whether or not it's worth the extra $. But I'd stay there again in an instant.

Room Tip: All the rooms are large and nice. So choose based on your bed-size preference (queen or king).

Living in the northeast and visiting the southeast opens a door to a past culture. The Browns graciously present their home, Bloomsbury Inn, for guests to enjoy. It has been lovingly restored to its former grandeur by Katherine and Bruce, Innkeepers Extraordinaire! All the rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Katherine's wonderful breakfast were gourmet in presentation and delicious in consumption. At the bewitching hour of 5:00 pm, guests and innkeepers came together to enjoy wine and cheese and each other. The history of the Inn and the Camden area was historically presented and theatrically recited by Bruce--well done! It was all wonderful and we look forward to returning to Bloomsbury and its southern hospitality. Thank you.

Room Tip: The Inn is set back so far from the road that each of the four rooms are quiet. The two in the fron...

The first of several historic inns in South Carolina we visited on our trip through South Carolina. We were immediately impressed by the innkeepers, the grounds and the facility. An afternoon on the front porch with Bruce, Katherine, the inkeepers, and other guests allowed us to find much in common to talk about. Our room was perfect in every respect. Breakfast was just right the next morning. Bruce gave us a detailed tour of the inn (actually it is their their home as well as an inn) explaining history of the facility and of the local area. We found the grounds to be immaculate and beautiful, a photographer's paradise! Although our stay was only one night, we would certainly stay there again if our travels take us anywhere near. Bloomsbury sets a very high standard in beauty, hospitality and its local historic role in the area.

Bloomsbury is as described in the Select Registry of Distinguished Inns. Upon arrival, Bruce and Kathrine welcomed us back with open arms. My husband immediately took a must needed nap in our cool and comfortable room, while I enjoyed the evening social on the veranda. Being interested in the history of the Civil War, that period "comes alive" with Bruce giving his
"walk through history" account of Mary Boykin Chestnut ,James Chestnut and the role they played in the Civil War. Last but not least, breakfast is great !

My wife and I spent one night in this delightful Bed and Breakfast the last week of May 2012. We had had a long day of driving but when we pulled in the stress melted away. Bruce met us at the door and helped with our luggage. He showed us to our large room with private bath and invited us down for a beverage and snacks. That is where we met Katherine who was the perfect hostess and was taking care of other guests. The owners are great at making you feel at home. We went into town (just a mile away) to enjoy a wonderful dinner at one of the many great restaurants in Camden. History buffs and antique hunters will love this small quaint SC town that is rich in history.
We had a wonderful large full breakfast that was to die for and you have to try the cucumber water, so refreshing. Then Bruce gave us a tour of this great old plantation home, complete with the history of the family who had first settled the homestead.
I can see why this B&B rates highly every year and we thought it to be a great value as well. I would highly recommend it. Even the local owl serenaded us that evening.

Room Tip: All rooms are very nice, the ones in the front are slightly larger but even the small rooms are larg...
