Serene, warm, inspiring... The Inn at Palmetto Bluff is a place of dreams, romance, rejuvenation... From the staff, to the grounds, to the food, all of them enhance this Auberge Resort experience... The village feel of the community and the access to amenities left you smiling and relaxed...

Room Tip: Not wishing to sound cliche, but there is really not a location worth enjoying...

I've stayed numerous times because I love it there. I've stayed in the cottages by the river with the tin roofs, the steam showers and claw foot tubs, the screened in porches large enough to sleep on, a refrigerator stocked with juices, creamer, water and more. A Keurig coffee maker, with all the supplies, complementary wine and fruit, lounging robes, window seat overlooking the old oaks with Spanish moss by the river, etc. I've also stayed in one of the large homes with 4 bedrooms and every movie imaginable /on the water. It's all great! They have room service in the cottages! The golf course is so plush I thought the tire on my golf cart was wobbling!! The spa is exceptional as is their hot or cold complementary toddy and the claw foot tubs overlooking the May River that you can soak in outside on your own private porch before your massage! The fireplace is always going in the relaxation room, even if the blower can't be on due to weather. The restaurant is very good in the Inn as is The Canoe Room overlooking the water. That one is shaped like an upside down Canoe. The wedding chapel is lovely and be sure to get a golf cart to ride around on so you can see everything (or bike!)The canoes are inviting and the fitness center is great. The adult pool has a great bar and the family pool has a large hot tub!

Room Tip: Get a cottage that backs up to the May River!

My family of 4 stayed in a 3 bedroom sports cottage. We were provided with 4 bikes and a golf cart. The cottage was exquisite! Friendly staff who always remembered your name. Food was delicious, great family pool, horseback riding was the best we have experienced at a resort, fishing was not very good but took a wonderful boat ride to a sandbar where there were many sand dollars, etc. Beautiful scenery and highly recommend riding the bikes on trails! Definitely a must see for anyone!

Such a lovely place! We stayed for 4 nights last week in a 3 bedroom village home. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The staff was friendly and thoughtful. The village home was perfectly suited for us with 3 king bedrooms and private baths. Great TVs in every room, DVD player in living room. Jigsaw puzzles, paperback books, fully equipped kitchen, extra towels, fluffy bathrobes.......they have thought of everything. Wonderful market on property with good selection of foods, toiletries, souvenirs, etc. Bikes and a golf cart for our use during the stay. Loaner cars from the inn for trips to Bluffton and Hilton Head. We went to sightsee and outlet shop, as well as lunch at The Cottage in Bluffton, The Boat House (?location) and Pour Richards in Bluffton for dinner (5 stars, review to follow) excellent recommendations from Inn concierge .
Spa was wonderful and the staff was fabulous. We spent afternoons at the adult pool which was relaxing and heavenly.
Cons: dock staff unable to schedule our desired private 1-2 hour boat tour but we were offered a group 3 hour cruise for 175 per person. We declined.
River House restaurant was just not as good as could be. Overpriced, understaffed and quite stuffy. Wish we had celebrated birthday dinner elsewhere.
Pool bar seemed to pack up early in the day( maybe 5 pm?) when several parties were still enjoying the pool

Buffaloes and Canoe Club were wonderful dining choices. In room dining was very quick. Bell staff was attentive, bike shop was helpful, fun concert on Tuesday night in front of the inn added a festive touch, beautiful sunsets, fun to see gators, turtles, deer, snakes (???), lizards, birds, raccoons......all kinds of wildlife if you looked carefully. No bugs in our accommodation . Comfy beds, comfortable AC, relaxing porches, nice toiletries.

A very fun stay with friends at the Inn!

Room Tip: All locations were excellent

My family of 4 stayed at Palmetto Bluff in July 2013 and had the best time ever! The setting, top-notch service and amazing amenities all make this a perfect vacation spot.

We stayed in a gorgeous 2 bedroom house that was about a 2 kinute walk to the river, pools, restuarants, etc. There were also 4 bikes waiting for us that would be ours to use throughout our stay. The beautiful house itself was well appointed, with plenty of space to spread out after a day full of biking, kayaking and swimminng. Every night there are bonfires in front of the Inn, with marshmallows for roasting and somemores supplies. This ended up to be a really fun social thing for the kids as there were a lot of kids in all different age groups to meet and hang out with. While they socialized, my husband and I took advantage of the screened in porch at the River Inn restaurant, which also has a great cocktail menu.

Every night before dinner we went for a bike ride and explored the resort and surrounding area. Sometimes we would stop at the racquet club and play a game of croquet, other times we'd just enjoy the scenery and stop by the lagoon to look for wild life (egrets, turtles, etc).

While our cottage did have a beautiful appointed kitchen, we ate out and had a lot of great food, both at the resort and in the nearby town of Bluffton. The river view from the Canoe Club restuarant was amazing and the food was great. Even the poolside lunch menus were tasty and had a wide variety of salads, wraps and sandwiches. Dinners were a little on the expensive side, but the lunch options were very reasonably priced.

This was such a beautiful place for a family vacation with so many things to do, but also very relaxing. We did not feel that we had to try to do it all on this trip, because we know that we will be back!

An overnight stay at the Inn at Palmetto Bluff, is an amazing experience. My wife and I arrived about 4 in the afternoon, we had made arrangements for the sunset cruise and were fortunate to have the cruise on the Grace, a hundred year old motor yatch. Before departing on the cruise we had enough time to check out our "Cabin". They haven't missed a beat, the cabin is equiped with every thing that you could imaging. Unfortunately, we had planned to stay just one night, so there were many things to do and see that will wait for our next visit. After the cruise along the May River, We had dinner at the Canoe Club and it was great. The next morning we had breakfast at Buffalos. We had a morning tee time at the May River Club, and the golf experince was super. Our caddie, although relatively new to May River did an excellent job. Lunch after Golf at the May River Grill was also very enjoyable. Our only regret was that we stayed only one night

Room Tip: The river view cabin are the most desireable, You park your car at the main Inn building and travers...

This place is truly unique. It's the kind of place where kids can ride their bikes around with no fear of anything, where every view around every corner is unspoiled and beautiful. The staff don't say no, they tell you how they'll make it happen somehow. This place feels so neat, it's like out of a movie. People are going places on golf carts and bikes, and people actually say hi and wave, and are courteous. Nobody seems to be in a rush. They have 2 beautiful pools, good gyms, watersports, and even a kids camp a few days a week (my daughters got to ride a pony, feed him an apple, and then finger paint him and help clean him up!) You know you're going somewhere special when it takes another 10 minutes of driving down a winding road through nature after you pass the security gate (a drive that might get slightly annoying after staying here for a very long period of time, or if you realize you forgot the cereal way back at the supermarket.) The cottages and homes (we stayed in a home) are all very nice, roomy, and luxurious. Bottom line: if you can afford to stay here, do it at least once. You won't be disappointed. I can guarantee we will be back. My kids love it here, too.
