We were recently visiting South Carolina with another couple.
We go to Hilton Head every year but it was our friends first time visiting.
We had always meant to stop at the British Open Pub but never got around to it.
This time we did and had the pleasure of having a lovely girl from Coventry (Sinead) serve us.
We enjoyed the food and drinks and atmosphere so much that we came back a second time.
It was our last day on the Island and nce again we had Sinead serve us and she is absolutely wonderful.
We loved the fish and chips and you can not beat the chicken and chips especially during happy hour.
There is so much chicken and so moist and delicious for only 4.99-unbelievable. Also the beer and wine specials are amazing. The service and atmosphere is the best!!
We also visited the British Open Pub on Hilton Head Island.
We look forward to our vacation next May and will be sure to stop by again.

Been living here for 2 years and with all the restaurants in this area, The British Open pub is by far the best for your dollar. Great food, great company and staff. The Fish & Chips is to die for. The Shepherd's Pie is first class. If your in the area, this is a must stop. You will not be disappointed.

If you want good food go to the Pub--Always have a great meal served by happy-good-pleasant servers. Fresh food. I love the fish and chips and French dip. Salads are great- plentiful and fresh. You will not be disappointed. Too bad they moved out of Sun City--was very convenient - New place STINKS--erratic food there.. Go to the British Open and enjoy.

Order the shepherds pie with lamb. Omg you will dream about it. Don't care for the fish and chips. Flavorless fish and the batter comes off when you bite into it. Onion rings are ok. These are beer battered but no seasoning. Very good food. The tables are very very close together and difficult to have enough room to sit if someone is behind you without be jammed up against your table which can be very uncomfortable for your digestion. Need a bigger place. We have been stuck outside and were forgotten about and we walked out.

As with many other of the local mid range eating establishments, the ingredients are "OK" but most, if not all of these ingredients, are being delivered by the same truck that is supplying the similar style restaurants. Maybe that's why most of the

So, there is nothing unique or extra special on this menu, nor in the food preparation.

Ribs were moist & tasty, but with a very salty sauce. Fish n Chips heavily coated in "batter" and rather greasy, as were the fries.

Liver & Onions was tasty, but again salty; while the frozen veggies were cooked beyond repair.

Service was friendly, and prices are average.
