I live in the area but had never ventured into the Rose Hill Plantation development to visit Rose Hill Mansion. Recently, however, I lead a tour group to see the mansion and was blown away by what I had been missing. It's not like Tara, at least on the outside. They call it Carpenter Gothic, a very unique style of architecture. The inside has been lovingly restored and decorated by the owners, one of whom (Robin) greeted us at the door and made everyone feel welcome. If you are into historic homes and the antebellum era, this is one you shouldn't miss.
