The tour guide was very informative but the sales pitch of desserts, at the end, was not welcomed. It is advertised w/appetizers, wine & sweets. Didn't know we would need to buy desserts.

We really enjoyed the Rose Hill mansion. The tour guide did a wonderful job, playing the part of someone from the original era. Interestingly, the home is in the back of a newer neighborhood and much of the home has been rebuilt within the last 20 years due to a fire. However, it was still beautiful and worth the afternoon. The tour itself took about an hour, followed by light refreshments and the ability to talk with the owners and walk around to view the first floor again (the only floor that is open to the tour). All-in, we were there about 2 hours.

A magnificent gothic home from the early 19th century, beautifully restored..
The tour was very well done by a very knowledgable docent. It was relaxed and informative with a glass of wine available at the beginning of the tour and delicious snacks served at the end. The grounds are lovely and the contents of the home are fascinating.

This is a beautiful mansion that has been lovingly brought back to its original splendour, the architecture is different than most Plantation in the south. The tour is informative and conducted by a lovely guide who has little anecdotes as well as very good history fact and you are treated more like a guest than a paying visitor. You can enjoy food and refreshments at the end of the tour, walk around and take picture and converse with the lovely lady who prepared the food and the gracious lady who owns and lived there.

Tuesday's docent was excellent! She made the history interesting, the family and the house seem warm and inviting, and provided many a chuckle. The privilege of browsing on our own and even folding ourselves I to some of the furniture was much appreciated, as were the samples of southern cooking.
