Owner description: Nestled on the grounds of a historical horse farm, Old Carolina Golf Club abounds with charm, and remains the areas only nine-hole golf course worthy of being discovered. Recently, the course won the prestigious "Best Public Golf Course" award from Lowcountry Monthly Magazine.  An honor the team at Old Carolina is very proud to have earned and received.Through hard work and perseverance the course has been transformed to a beautifully manicured gem that is alive with play. Once the course received its due recognition, it wasn't long until it was filled with daily players eager to experience the newly revitalized championship links. The challenge of the design coupled with beautiful southern scenery make Old Carolina Golf Club a must play for any golfer seeking a unique playing experience.

Not a very interesting golf course. Many great courses around. The greens are average, the course condition is average, there's just not a lot of interest.

“Ah, What Once Was!”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

Theere is a tragic feeling to this 9 hole course. It used to be excellent, but the developer eliminated 9 very good holes to add condos. The homeowners were enraged. The course now barely hangs on, with minimal watering and almost no fertilization. It still could be an attractive venue, but play here only to warm up for some otherwise great golf in the area.

“Worst Ever”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

As a foreign visitor, I was attracted to this course by one of its many enticing adverts. There were no other players in sight and it soon became clear why. The fairways were overgrown, the greens were woolly, slow and sandy. Tee blocks were placed randomly and some were missing. Avoid!

“Good nine hole course for an afternoon of golf”
Reviewed June 12, 2012

Nine hole course that is great for kids to play a round for next to nothing in the afternoon (after 4 PM). Very good option if you are looking for a course without all the pomp and circumstance and old farts in golf carts

“9 mediocre holes”
Reviewed June 24, 2011

Went with my brother-in-law and our 14/15 year old sons. We golfed and they rode with us. This was our boys first time out on a golf course. Two good things were it was a good environment to take them and let them hit and putt a few, and the price was very reasonable. The greens are aweful, the course not well maintained, and a bit of a drive from Hilton Head where we were staying. I would only go there if you want to hack around for a cheap price, but if you want a nice course with well manicured greens and fairways, pick another course.
