“Enjoyable locals spot”
Reviewed April 6, 2014

Situated just a street or two away from Bay Street in downtown Beaufort, Emily's seems to be a local hot spot and a place where other people from the restaurant industry in town come after work. We noticed a few people that we recognized from other places. Speaks to the respect Emily's seems to have in the neighbourhood.

The restaurant is split into a dining area and a bar area but you can still dine in the bar as long as you don't mind a bit of extra noise. It can boisterous at times but all in good fun as everyone is enjoying themselves.

Starting with some tapas, we really enjoyed the garlic beef and the shrimp with panchetta and peaches. The sauce with the garlic beef is especially good so hang on to that to dip some bread in, etc.

When we visited last week they had a great Mahi Mahi encrusted with corn flakes and deep fried with cajun peaches and rice. Really awesome - everyone else in our group was going for bites.

A really huge menu that will please anybody. Service does take a little bit but the atmosphere, friendly staff and ultimately the enjoyable food makes it worth it.

“Perfect Anniversary Dinner!”
Reviewed April 5, 2014 via mobile

Emily's has been one of our favorite date-night restaurants for years! We celebrated our anniversary there tonight and had a perfect evening. The staff was very friendly, and our server was attentive, helpful, knowledgeable and fun! We love to share several tapas for dinner, and we agreed the fried oysters were the best we've ever had! We can't wait to go back!

“A neighborhood gem”
Reviewed April 5, 2014

Had dinner here this past week. Must be a place for locals as everyone seemed to know everyone. The menu was extensive and had small plates and big plates. A nice selection of wines and my selection was one I buy at home and the mark-up was only 2X ... Clearly they are there for the locals. Started with a crab cake appetizer which was excellent. We had a special of the evening, fresh caught Cobia prepared with white wine, lemon and cappers and it was delicious. It was served with a very nice fresh house salad and fresh baked asparagus. Desert was a triple chocolate cake ... The only down side was no espresso after dinner. Service was outstanding ... friendly, helpful with an honest feel ... typical of a locals place. It was not the best meal I have had in Beaufort ... but it was the best over all restaurant experience in Beaufort and I have dinned in Beaufort many times at about 6 or 7 different restaurants. I will be back.
