Plums was the best restaurant we visited in Beaufort. Everything we had was well cooked with fresh ingredients. Their seafood is excellent, and their salads are too. Try the Greek salad topped with either grilled shrimp or crab cake. Delish. The restaurant is beautiful too, in a quirky/arty kind of way. There is indoor and outdoor seating. It has a grown-up feel to it, with a bar in the eating area, but they also have a kids menu and our kids (7 and 10) did not feel out of place there at all.

A simple restaurant with exceptional shrimp, oysters and clams. Although this restaurant is definitely on the tourist strip, the people were warm and inviting -unlike the other restaurants on the strip. Both the shrimp salad and the catfish poorboy were terrific.

We don't know about the food, but after being ignored by several employees, we decided to try Hemingway's next door. Plums did us a favor, as Hemingway's serves yummy food, and the wait staff is friendly, personable and efficient!

Loved the location and restaurant decor. Disliked slow service and cold entrees. Quality was no more than "just average." Don't go out of your way for this one.

We visited twice during our stay in Beaufort. The first was for dinner and we enjoyed our meals; my husband had the low country boil and I had a lunch portion of shrimp and grits. The staff were very informed and friendly; if it'd been warm out, there is some seating outside. The second visit was for Friday Oyster night - it's free oysters from 5:00-7:00. Please tip the oyster opener guy!! My husband enjoyed the oysters, I chose not to participate. The other patrons seemed to enjoy them also, so if you like slimy, raw oysters, this is the place to be on Fridays at 5:00.
