Had drinks at the bar, and left quickly after repeatedly hearing foul language coming from the kitchen. Incredibly, a manager witnessed this nonsense and barely noticed. He offered us a shot of peppermint schnapps, which seemed hilarious to us at the time. Obviously no one really cares here...

This was our first experience at Plum. Visiting Hilton Head from California where seafood is dress every day, I didn't expect really good food. Wow, what a surprise! The stuffed flounder was exceptional! Great service and a lovely dining experience topped off a wonderful evening. Highly recommended!

We questioned dining here because the ratings were mediocre. We should have heeded the information.

On the recommendations of two locals we stopped in Plums for lunch this past weekend despite our hesitation because we thought the locals would know best. We arrived around 1:45pm thinking it was past the lunch rush but it was very busy. They seated us right away in a dinning room that had very close seating. I am used to city style dinning so this wasn’t too uncomfortable but the tables were extremely close where it was difficult to have a conversation without hearing the everything our neighbors were saying.

The food was barely OK…the service was poor. (my friend liked her low country boil)

Pros:
• Quick Seating
• Variety of food
• Convenient location
• Pleasant people…made conversation with the people sitting next to us

Cons:
•Strike 1 - Poor Customer Service
o Took a while for them to take our order
o Took even longer for the food to arrive

•Strike 2 -In accuracy
oThe order wasn’t correct

•Strike 3- Poor Quality
oThe food (burger and fries) didn’t have much flavor (fries undercooked)
• Took fooorever to get our check
• Listen to the people next to us who experienced the same situation (They finished before us but were still waiting for their check when we left…they got their order wrong too after waiting a while for their food)
• The menu was just an ordinary menu even though they said it was creative.

We rarely saw our waitress but she was pleasant. We wouldn’t recommend dining here if looking for good food. Dockside (on lady island) was great for dinner and the Southern Sweets ice cream parlor had wonderful customer service! Our dining neighbors also recommended Dockside and they were absolutely right!

Maybe there are not many choices for lunch in the historic district or because it is on the waterfront which is why this was considered a favorite by locals. I hope the other waterfront places are much better.

Plums is one of our favorite places for lunch. Food is very good, and for lunch has many choices.
I especially like the shrimp salad. We were just there after Fourth of July, and the place was quite crowded and noisy, but service was fairly fast and the food was good.

We had traveled all day and were traveling with our two dogs. After walking along the park and waterfront we were trying to decide where to eat with our canine companions when some staff from Plums approached us and welcomed us in. We sat on the porch. The staff was awesome and the food was fabulous. They even made grilled chicken for the dogs who were tired and hungry after a long day in the car. Overall, one of the best dining experiences ever. They even encouraged us to stay for the band that was getting ready to play - we did and were glad we did it.
