“Wonderful Trail System!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2014

We just completed the 3.3 mile section from Depot Road to just about Port Royal. What a wonderful stretch through marshes, wooded residential areas! Wide enough for plenty of foot and bicycle traffic with distance and elevation markers and benches for resting along the way! Cannot wait to come back to see how much more of this trail is completed...so glad we brought our bikes this visit to our kids this time!

“Understanding how to get there, etc”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2014

I am amazed nobody has provided some basic details on how to access the trail, how the mile markers work, etc - not even the primary website. So here is one way to do it. Start at the access point at 1709 Westvine Drive, Port Royal (works well in GPS, nice parking area, benches, etc). As you face the trail from the access area go to your right towards Beaufort (trail only goes a short way to the left right now - Google the main website to check out expansion plans). You will be starting at Mile 2.15 because the Mile marker signs reflect the correct mileage when the trail is completed. You will cross another access area on Broome Lane and the current paved trail ends at Depot Rd access area (Mile 5.06). They have incorporated a wonderful old depot into the trail here and hopefully they will eventually have restrooms and a drinking fountain available here. So, if you go up and back you will travel about 6 miles.

Go walk, run, bike or rollerblade this trail! It is great!

“If your thinking walk through pristine wetlands and woods FORGET IT!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2014

This trail was not what I was expecting. It is a concrete path very flat and suitable to bike but it runs through the back of housing developments and has no scenic appeal. If you just want exercise its okay. I was looking for something more natural and scenic

Take your fishing dear. You can fish from the bridge over the tidal creek. Love this trail. It was easy to walk and scenic.

I live on the trail. It is absolutely beautiful. My 91 year old father sits on the deck and watches families with their dogs when the weather is warm. The view of the creek is lovely.
