“No better than McStarbucks”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2014 via mobile

$17 for 2 lattes, 2 muffins & a yogurt parfait. Threw out the muffins. Dry as dust, but very dense. No foam on the lattes. None! 1/3 espresso, 1/3 steamed milk, 1/3 texturized foam. That's the recipe. If you can't do it, just serve drip. Yogurt parfait was $5.25 and was a gummy, slimy mess. You've gotta put a barrier between the yogurt & the granola or it's like paste. They don't.

My latte was gone before I finished enjoying it. Please add a larger size. Great coffee taste and quick service.

“Delicious Cafe Mocha”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2014

Before we left Beaufort and our hotel, City Loft, we went to City Java & News which was located inside our hotel. We had a $5 coupon from our hotel so went to get a coffee. A medium cafe mocha with an extra shot of espresso came to just over $5 (total of 4 espresso shots in this drink). It was yummy and we would absolutely get another one but there was a little too much chocolate. The end of the coffee tasted just like hot chocolate, barely any coffee flavor and the end was too sweet to finish. Quick service, a variety of other coffee drinks, pastries, and snacks available.

“Great place that has what you need...great coffee!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2014

The place where the baristas dish out the goods is tiny, so you may have to wait a bit, but it's worth it to support an independent coffee house. The staff is very nice, coffee is great, and there are lots of pre-packaged sandwiches and great pastries. I returned several times. It's in a great location, plenty of parking. I'm a coffee snob and I loved it.
