Went to Shoofly Kitchen for Sunday brunch. It very popular with every table, booth and counter stool taken. The staff was harried but lovely. Prices for Sunday brunch entrees ran between $ 9 and $13.
Little flower pots with pieces of freshly baked coffee cake were offered when taking the order....well most of the time.
They were out of 1/4 of the items on the menu. My shrimp and grits were good and served with 2 biscuits. The problem was my husband's Crab Benedict. The muffin, crab cake and poached egg were covered in a glutinous orange colored sauce. Some one had very liberally sprinkled cayenne pepper all over the mounds. Scraping the goop off made it edible. But really....that's not why we go to restaurants.
Shoofly is worth a visit IF you are patient and IF you are flexible about your order and IF you REALLY like cayenne pepper!!
