Nice place to enjoy the ocean, woods, light house and trails. Need to pay user fee. Senior rate only applies to SC residents.

You feel like you stepped into another world once you hit the beach!! I am surprised that alot more movies aren't made from this location!! Words cannot not describe the sights that you will see!! Beach erosion has caused gigantic palm trees (and others) to have toppled and are lying on the beach!..The root systems that are exposed are tremendous! My six foot husband, standing next to it, looks like a postage stamp. We have been to Beaufort so many times, but found it by accident this year. We will be going back to share it with our friends and family. Don't miss it!!!

We were there both in the rain and the sun. We loved it. Loved that it was a natural beach. Great facilities.

LOVE this Beach. We discovered Hunting Island on our second visit to this area and fell in love! Upon arrival of the Park we were shocked by its beauty and natural surroundings. There is none of the tourist trap hoopla of Myrtle Beach and HHI area .Just quiet serene NATURE!
Many Conch Shells and Sand-dollars to be found upon early arrivals.
We have also gotten into Shark Teeth hunting here.During the May-Oct months Logger head turtles are nesting..so don't be surpirised to see a big gal early in the a.m. after laying her eggs. Also they have Turtle-patrols in the a.m. to protect and log the wonders of it all.
Also have seen Dolphins feeding several times. The most Amazing Sunrise I have ever seen and a must to visit if ever in the area. The North Beach is our Favorite !!

This is a beautiful NATURAL beach. The State Park has great facilities and is a fantastic place for a family gathering on picnic. It is also handicapped friendly with free handicapped beach chairs for those who need them
