Description: Wren Bistro and Bar is a locally owned and operated restaurant and bar that features an ever evolving menu for both lunch and dinner. The kitchen uses delicious locally caught seafood, great cuts of steak, juicy chicken, and tasty pasta dishes. The portions are enormous (the 18 oz ribeye, and the 12-14 oz burgers for example!) and are easily big enough to share. We compliment the lunch and dinner menus with a staff of professional servers and bartenders who are very knowledgeable, always courteous, and very entertaining. The décor is elegant, yet modern and hip. So, if you and yours are looking for a great experience, and even better food, come check us out anytime Monday through Saturday, between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. Reservations are not required, but always welcomed!

The restaurant was overwhelmed with a large party that arrived just ahead of us and we got our dinners over an hour after we ordered. The food was good, but not the wait. Our reservation was for 7pm, we were seated promptly, but we didn't get out until 9:30pm.

First, we have given up going to dinner on Valentines Day...the restaurants abandon their regular menu for a special (ie: higher priced) menu without their usual offerings...the prices are higher, it is harder to get a reservation, and the service tends to be slower...we went to Wren the night before Valentine's Day...no crowds..their regular menu..it was so good...I had the mediterean pasta...clams, mussels, shrimp over a light butter, oil sauce...excellent...we also had the hummus, caaesar salad and the calamari...all were great..their wine list has brands you actually recognize, as opposed to many restaurants in Beaufort....it is becoming our favorite

Wife and daughter had lunch there. Service was good, an attentive waitress. Blaring 70's rock music was a detraction. Food was average at best.... Both sandwiches were too bready... yes, bready... one was a chicken sandwich served on too much bread. The other was a fried green tomato sandwich again with too much bread. It was too big to handle that the contents of the tomato sandwich flopped out on her lap. Maybe it was an off day.... maybe not? For $30 for 2... it was a total Fail.

This restaurant is an extremely good value. For a couple of cost ticks up from Outback and Olive Garden, you have a good dining experience for great value. My wife's chicken entree was $19 and my pasta dish was $15. The portions are large and even an adult male could be satisfied with a salad and fried green tomato appetizer.
You also have the choice of the main room or the in the bar on counter height stool.
We have eaten here at least ten times and have not had a bad experience.
Salads are good and generous as are the fried green tomatoes. If I have any criticism at all it that the food is a bit under seasoned to my taste.
One odd thing is that they bring out bread and seasoned oil but do not provide bread plates. So when you partake of the oil there are always spots on the paper table cloth. Also if you take a piece of bread for dipping, you break it in half and have to lay it naked on the table or place if back in the bread bin. A small thing indeed but something which could be easily fixed.
Dinner for two was $66 with tax and without tip. Of that $10 was their corkage fee.

As rudimentary as it sounds, the chicken salad is really special. I found my self thinking about it days later. The atmosphere of the place is really nice and the bar staff very friendly. They also have some pretty good wines by the glass.
