Our vacation consisted in visiting numerous inns for the purposes of learning about their history and enjoying the antique decor of each. We were no disappointed at Cuthbert. The inn is situated on a beautiful lot in easy walking distance of downtown Beaufort. Although we were there for only one night, the inn certainly met our expectations. The inn history itself dates back to the Civil War period and is tastefully decorated with extensive wall art concentrating on aviary and flowers. Parking is spacious and a small outdoor courtyard is situated under a magnificant tree overflowing with spansh moss. We would definitely recommend this historic inn to others.

After reviewing all of the listings for Beaufort, SC it was impossible not to choose this B and B. The house was absolutely gorgeous, one of the most beautiful historic locations I have ever stayed in. Our room was also great as we stayed in one of the Queen Deluxe rooms which was clearly the old slaves quarters based on typical floor plans for one of these antebellum houses. The place was full of charm and character, the only thing that was lacking were opportunities for guests to have time with the host and hostess and assemble together with each other. There was a social hour complete with wine and snacks but for the most part people coming together was less encouraged from the simple fact that everyone had their own table at breakfast to the point that the owners split immediately after social hour. I loved the place, the price could not be beat, but it still needs something that helps separate Bed and Breakfasts from your average boutique hotel.

Room Tip: Based on the price range the Queen Deluxe seemed like the best deal and we were absolutely pleased w...

This was the most beautiful B & B we stayed at on our trip through the south! It's an amazing inn with a lovely breakfast room and little nooks and crannies. It's beautiful decorated from top to bottom. Our room on the top floor opened our to a little balcony overlooking the back garden with sweeping moss hanging from the trees - perfect "southern" experience.

We were surprised that we were supposed to be there by 6pm (didn't get that info in the reservation). We had a very peaceful walk through town, taking in all the beautiful homes. Overall we wished we had more than one night to spend here.

My wife and I stayed at the Cuthbert House Inn for two nights during a spur of the moment trip to Beaufort, SC. The Inn is located on Bay Street (name says it all). We could see the boats docked in the bay every morning during our delicious breakfast. The social hour in the afternoon was nice (wine, beer and snacks) and our host Jeff was very interested in all of the guests that atttended. The location made it easy to walk to the Historic District for lunch and/or dinner. Beaufort is a great town for a short or a long get away. The beach at Hunting Island State Park is great and you can also visit the Marine Museum on Parris Island for side trips.

This Bed and Breakfast is in a convenient location to town and is so very comfortable. The rooms are beautifully decorated with period pieces and needs of the traveler are well thought out and provided for. The owners , Maryann and Jeff, are alway ready to provide information and make reservations for their visitors. We were upgraded to a huge suite overlooking the water without even making such a request. The breakfast room is light and sunny with individual tables. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. All in all, a positive experience.

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. We splurged and stayed in the Eastlake Suite. Having stayed in many "high rated" places over the years, we found the Cuthbert House to be among our most memorable. We both had a wonderful time and found the suite well worth the price. The host are terrific and very good at making their guest feel comfortable and welcomed. Don't miss the 5:00 social hour, it is great for learning about the area and the host will make sure that your questions about what to do with your time gets answered. We will be back!

Room Tip: The waterfront is beautiful and a room with a view of it will add enjoyment. There is also a nice g...
