We stayed at the Beaufort Inn for two nights before checking into our condo on Hilton Head Island. What a find! we stayed at the Rhett House a few years ago, absolutely no comparison. The city is an absolute delight, Right in the heart of the historic district. Our lovely room was luxuriously appointed with a hardwood floor entry, patterened carpet, gas fireplace A private porch complete with a soaking tub in the bath! Staying in the main house is awesome because you truly feel like you have stepped back in time. You meander up an exquisite mahogany staircase framed by chandeliers and period magnolia wall coverings to the upper floors. Our room had all the modern amenities including a flat-screen TV and coffee maker. Internet connection was unreliable, but there is a public library right across the street that has about 10 computers. The Beaufort Inn is plush and relaxing, The staff professional friendly and helpful. We loved coming “home” every night, chatting with other guests over wine and cheese. We are very excited that we found the Beaukl;fort Inn and hope to return soon.

Recently, my husband and I stayed 2 evenings at the Beaufort Inn……also as part of a bike touring group. (There may be a few reviews from bike-touring folks out on this website, as this Inn is a designated stop on a popular bike tour.)

We found the Beaufort Inn to be a very charming place with a warm and inviting atmosphere. (The owner even spent time chatting with us about the wall paper and decorating schemes/colors chosen for the front parlor!) Our room (#6) was extremely clean and cozy. A number of us compared accommodations, and the rooms did vary quite a bit in size and configuration; however, each had the quaint character, decoration and uniqueness one would expect in a Victorian mansion. (We utilized hotel chains on our way to the bike tour, and this was certainly a very refreshing non-cookie-cutter change of pace.)

The breakfast buffet included at least 3 hot dishes, a chef-created granola mix, bacon, muffins, juices, fruits, and great coffee. The afternoon refreshments included a variety of nut dips, cheeses, and wine. Although we had a large group (17), we welcomed the other Inn guests into our conversations, and everyone had a great time! This was, by far, the best place we stayed on our bike tour!

Since this was part of a travel package, I cannot speak to value or cost, but we will definitely consider staying here if we ever return to this part of the country!

The Beaufort Inn is in a great location - with a wonderful walking environment to and around town. The Inn also has a very warm and inviting atmosphere - providing the opportunity to chat with other guests over afternoon refreshments and a great breakfast.

My wife and I found the staff to be friendly, very attentive and customer oriented - and we have already planned another trip back.

We stayed at the inn 2 nights as part of a bicycle tour group of 16. Our room was absolutely lovely, complete with the wireless service we like to have. It was clean and beautifully furnished. The afternoon "happy hours" provided several cheese and nut appetizers, in addition to the wine. The cheese choices were great .
We especially loved the breakfasts... delicious quiches, grits, fruits and, on the second morning, a wonderful fresh blueberry french toast (?) concoction.

The staff could not be any friendlier or more helpful. The new decor is lovely and the front porch is delightful. Breakfast is included and is a feast prepared by Robert, with GOOD coffee! The wine is OK, (bring your own for the afternoon gathering) but the dips and cheeses are outstanding. The Inn is within blocks of the marina (we arrived by boat) as well as shopping and some very good restaurants. I'm surprised by the negative reviews as our experience was very positive. Our room was large and airy, with a comfy bed and a large clean bath well supplied with amenities. We suggest a PC in the lobby for the use of the guests, and a clock in the dining room-we could sit there for hours! Thanks, Mitch, Robert, Sommer, Theresa, et al!
