We booked a luxury king room and were given Chisholm Cottage in the grounds of the Inn. The accommodation was clean and comfortable with a very large bathroom. We had pull up, pull down blinds which meant we could only have privacy or daylight, not both which made the room a little gloomy and not nearly enough storage for our clothes. One of the blinds was broken and a bulb 'popped' in one of the lamps and wasn't replaced. The top seal on the fridge was very dirty (which I tried to clean). Staff were friendly and helpful except for the male breakfast cook who should improve his manners towards transatlantic visitors. Parts of the outside areas were not very well maintained. All in all I wouldn't rate this as luxury accommodation.

Thank you for taking the time to write a thorough review. I appreciate any feedback which will help us improve our guest’s experience. I regret that your stay in our Chisholm Cottage was impacted by maintenance issues. This accommodation has recently been painted a warm pewter gray with a buttery yellow ceiling. Very soon the window shades will be replaced with blinds to allow the light to stream in. Our room attendant manager along with maintenance staff now goes into rooms on a daily basis to ensure that our rooms meet our standard for an exceptional guest experience. We know you have a choice in accommodations and I hope that when your travels bring you back to Beaufort you will give us the opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to your satisfaction and the Quintessential Lowcountry Experience!

This is a lovely B&B in a wonderfully quaint, historic southern town. Staff could not have been nicer. We stayed on a Thursday and Friday night. Outside noise is very noticeable due to the hardwood floors, spaces in doors, and thin walls so we were awakened very early. We used ear plugs the second night and this helped significantly. Ice is only available in the lobby in a large bowl (ice machine would be more convenient). The bed was comfortable, coffee maker, wine glasses and plenty of towels are available in the room. Location is very convenient to shops and good restaurants. We probably prefer a traditional hotel, but this was nice for a change of pace.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and to provide us with your feedback. Our staff works diligently to contribute to each guest’s unforgettable experience. Since your visit we have changed the way we make ice service available to guests. We now keep a freezer well stocked with bags of ice. When a guest checks in and we escort them to their room we bring along a filled ice bucket. And we are always happy to deliver ice to a guest’s room. We think it is the little things that make such a difference and I hope to welcome you back to The Beaufort Inn again!

We're locals to the Beaufort area, but decided to get out of the house for our 18th Wedding Anniversary. The Beaufort Inn was the perfect spot. The property is absolutely beautiful. It's very well maintained and appointed. Our room was gorgeous. It overlooked the courtyard from the second floor. Enjoying the cool South Carolina evening air and enjoying coffee there as the sun came up the next morning were highlights. We truly didn't want to leave. Accomodations and staff are all 5 star worthy. The Beaufort Inn is a must stay!

Room Tip: Get a second floor room in the garden cottage.

Thank you for your lovely review. I am thrilled you chose The Beaufort Inn for your Anniversary. Sometimes, a “stay-cation” is even better than a vacation! The courtyards are especially beautiful in the evening when they are lit up, it makes for a very enjoyable evening. Please come back and stay with us again!

My husband and I stayed here for one night on a road trip down to Savannah. The entire place was adorable right from the get go and the staff super friendly. We stayed in one of the garden rooms which was perfect for a late night arrival. Beaufort is a very small quaint town with delicious food - the Beaufort Inn was the perfect place to stay! Very charming and southern. If I was from around there I would definitely have considered it for my wedding!

Thank you for your kind review. I am thrilled you chose to stop over in Beaufort and stay with us. The Garden Cottages are a guest favorite. The beautifully appointed room and luxurious bathroom with claw foot deep soaking tubs make these rooms very special. Beaufort, as you mentioned, while quaint is fast becoming a favorite destination! The history, authentic cuisine, and wonderful location all contribute to its charm. I hope you will return to Beaufort and stay with us again at The Beaufort Inn.

My husband and I had such a wonderful trip to Beaufort and stay at the Beaufort Inn. My husband was slightly skeptical of the bed and breakfast experience but we both had a wonderful time. Our room and bath were large and beautiful. The bed was comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful, and the breakfast delicious. Will visit again!

My wife and I stayed at the Beaufort Inn for 2 nights to celebrate or lament our newly found empty nest... We had a wonderful time. The Inn is very nice, clean rooms, comfortable beds and showers that have plenty of power. The outside courtyard was very peaceful and a nice retreat where we sipped our drinks and played cards. There are areas of the exterior that could use some fresh paint and cleaning up but it did not detract from the visit. The Inn is within easy walking distance of the river front area where there are many nice restaurants as well as park benches to sit and watch the river traffic. The food/breakfast was very good and the chef was very engaging, providing tips on what to do in the area... this was very helpful as Beaufort is very quiet, he really helped us out as we didn't really plan any great outings (his suggestions: tour the historical homes on foot, shop in the downtown area, go to Hunting Island and see the light house/beach and Fripp Island. We did not go to Fripp (rumor has it you have to have a pass to get on the island). Dining: We ate a great Pizza at Luther's for a late night meal, and dinner another night at Dockside which was fantastic. Overall this was a terrific getaway.

Thank you for your kind review. I am thrilled you enjoyed the serenity of one of our courtyards. They provide our guests with a lovely place to sit back, relax and enjoy the wonderful Lowcountry weather. So often guests are surprised to find that the Beaufort Inn is a 34 room Historic Boutique Inn contained on a city block and comprised of eleven restored buildings, five courtyards and countless porches and verandahs. The care and maintenance of our property is an important priority. Since your visit we have hired a full time maintenance person who has been working exceedingly hard to ensure our building and grounds are well maintained and preserved. I hope you will return to The Beaufort Inn again soon.

From start to finish, our experience at the Beaufort Inn was much more than we'd hoped for. The food at breakfast was delicious, cooked just the way we wanted, and there was plenty of it available both mornings. Our room and bath were beautifully appointed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom was huge! Lots of hot water, plenty of air conditioning. The concierge Ashley was helpful and pleasant--she even got a small frig for our room, just as we'd requested, helped us store our bikes in a secure place during the night, gave great suggestions for places to eat in the area. She's really top of the line and a credit to the Inn.

Looking forward to returning the Beaufort Inn. . . .
