“Fun bar with basic pub food.”
Reviewed March 4, 2012

I have been here many times and it has always been to sit in the bar area and watch entertainment while eating a casual dinner. They often have local bands playing or they have Karaoke night during the week. The food isn't spectacular - but it's pretty good. On one of my visits I had spicy corn chowder that was amazing - but that was a special soup of the day so you can't get it on a regular basis. There is a dining room off to the side of the bar area. I have never eaten in there but I imagine it must be noisy on weekend nights due to bar noise. The bar waitresses are always very personable and attentive - one even joins in singing on Karaoke sometimes. This is a good place to go if you're looking for a fun bar and casual environment.

“Unhappy Local”
Reviewed February 5, 2012

My family used to dine here regularly until the food quality went way down and the prices went up. Most of the service was terrible with an occasional exception. The bar area looks fun if that's your thing so this review only applies to dining.

“Great Neighborhood Pub”
Reviewed January 9, 2012

A very good pub, with a casual, welcome and friendly-neighbor feel. Always good, attentive service; Tim, Troy, Doug, Kristin and the rest of the crew make this pub as welcoming as it is. The food is good--don't go expecting great, because that does the place a disservice. They don't try to be the finest dining room in the area; they do try to offer and succeed in serving decent comfort food at an affordable price. The pub fare is what you'd expect--wings, skins, chowder, burgers, etc.--but it's one of the few places in RI where you can order up a basket of deep-fried smelts: the only other time you're guaranteed to find these tasty little beauties is the Christmas Eve fish dinner at nonni's house! The pub area is the best of the establishment, given the historic feel of the room, with exposed beams and hand-hewn planks. Go, relax, catch a game or some tunes, have fun. Just wish they'd bring back 'Gansett on tap!

Reviewed October 16, 2011

The food can be hit or miss, but great atmosphere., Sunday nights are always fun for bluegrass lovers. Open mic second Sunday in great. If Christin is on the service is always outstanding. The woman is amazing.

“Good choice for basic food.”
Reviewed August 15, 2011

We recently had a nice meal in this restaurant located in the middle of town with ample parking near the main entrance which is in the back of the building. A busy bar with some highboys and seats in addition to a pub style dining area with tables and booths which was where we were seated. There is another connecting dining room which was closed off during our visit. The service was efficient; the menu has many choices from sandwiches to full meals and a blackboard shows daily specials. Wine list with reasonably priced wines by the glass or bottle. The food was good, basic and served hot; nothing exceptional. Later in the evening the bar became busier and music started by 9PM. Some nights feature 'open mike' for the adventurous ones!
