We wanted to try this new inviting spot in Weekapaug since we have been summer residents of Misquamicut. What a disappointment. Our a la carte breakfast was dismal. No-taste carrot soup (the only choice) and a few sprigs of Romaine lettuce that was supposed to be a Caesar salad. The dressing was terrible. All for $50. Service was iffy, too.

Don't waste your money here.

The Weekapaug Inn is just what you would would want in an Inn, it is not like its sister establishment, the nearby Ocean House, and you wouldn't want it to be. The only resemblance is the fine renovations that have taken place, and the service. The dinner for our 44th Anniversary was very good, and we were pleasantly full when we left, thank god they don't over serve the amount of food. The cost puts it into the "Treat status", which is nice to have. This place will be difficult to get into, as its popularity will grow, so make your plans early, both for dinner or staying over. Looks like a great place to get lost in the off season. Enjoy!

Don't make the mistake of thinking this is going to be the usual buffet style brunch. The dining room is exceptionally well appointed as is the rest of this charming upscale property. "Appetizers" are served family style with an assortment of charcuterie meats, pate maison, artisan cheeses and other treats along with a basket of assorted breads and pastries. The entree for each diner is selected from a menu and the choice is exceptionally good. A platter of small delectable desserts finishes off the meal. The food was very good indeed and well presented. Service was friendly and efficient. .

My wife and I were staying at the newly renovated Inn for our 35th Anniversary and had dinner and breakfast at the Inn's restaurant.
Since a bleak day at the end of March isn't exactly High Season (or a great time to get married but it seems to have worked) and the Inn was understandably mostly empty, our expectations weren't terribly high. We decided to have a drink before dinner in the bar adjoining the restaurant because the room was cozy with comfortable furniture and a roaring fire. The bartender was charming, expert and accommodating and we spent a pleasant time talking with her and enjoying the room. But dinner beckoned and we were seated at a wonderful table right in front of yet another fireplace. The restaurant tries to locally source their food as much as possible and we started by splitting a Georges Bank Scallop appetizer, after which my wife had one of the evening specials, a wonderfully sauced Monkfish and I had the half portion of ricotta gnocchi with a locally grown lamb and shallot confit and other garnishes. While my wife's dinner was wonderful, I have to say that this was the lightest gnocchi I've ever had and definitely the most delicious preparation. For dessert we shared their apple strudel (see picture below) which arrived on a plate with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate.
On to breakfast, which started with their "Continental Breakfast Bar" which had sectioned grapefruit, other fruits (with a sign that said the staff would cut your fruit for you if you wished), a variety of fresh baked pastries, yogurts, granola, etc. In addition to that, we were also invited to get a hot item from the menu. My wife had eggs and I had the spinach, turkey & cheese omelet with wonderful thick slices of apple smoked bacon. Orange juice is freshly squeezed when you order it and coffee comes in individual presses. Our waitress urged us to try the fresh jam which is made at a nearby farm and, as you would expect, that was also delicious. So we sat in the comfortable furniture, lingering over breakfast while reading the day's newspapers (remember, this is March and there were people at only two other tables) and watching the ducks swimming in the pond while someone in waders was clamming on the opposite shore. We were also sighing contentedly.
As with the rest of the Inn, the restaurant staff was friendly, knowledgeable and happy to make suggestions and do whatever they could to see that everything was perfect...and it was.
The excellence of the dining experience here was consistent with the rest of our stay and we hope, once again, to make the Weekapaug Inn part of our tradition now that it has re-opened.
