My wife and I were recently staying at The Ocean House, and one night tried the Olympia Tea Room. The restaurant was nice and the menu looked good. The waiter was efficient, when he showed up. My iced tea was never refilled. The food was good, but the experience was ruined by the staff cursing and being loud very close to the table. It felt like they didn't care about our business. We were one of only two couples eating. The Olympia Tea Room could be a very good restaurant, maybe Gordon Ramsey will visit!

Looks like it's the only restaurant in the area, so we had to eat. The food came very late, the waiter was a non-talking type and a "blind" type-had to ask for everything obvious. The hot water they brought for tea must have been priceless since they brought a minute quantities of it and we had to ask THREE times to fill it in.Then, we were completely forgotten sitting outside..Had to go ask to clean the plates (small space on stable) and to get a check..! We were thnking to leave him a minimum tip but then! found out that the tip-15% is already included in a price. NOW we know why he could care less... Will NOT go there again.

Olympia Tea Room may serve tea, but with a full bar it is not your average "tea room". Built in 1906 and set in the picturesque Watch Hill across from the water and marina, this is a mix between local and gourmet. Though some may consider the fare a bit pricey, the food and staff are excellent. My wife and I stopped in for lunch and ordered soup and appetizers. Main menu items were a bit high just for lunch. We started with the soup of the day which was a fish chowder along with calamari R.I. style. Chowder was excellent as was the calamari which was light and crispy. I followed with a clam appetizer served with sausage and my wife ordered a pepperoni pizza. Again both were excellent. We had to take home a doggie bag. The staff were very friendly and super attentive. Highly recommend Olympia Tea room but be careful of the prices. Martini at $10.

Excellent, casual dining fit for a foodie. Great oysters and wines by the glass. A long time favorite of our family. Try the lobster cocktail...........wedge salad........and a coffee "swan dessert"........at sunset overlooking the harbor.....life is good.

We love local restaurants and checked out the OTR while on vacation here. The reviews for the restaurant were all over the charts so we weren't quite sure what to expect. The service was adequate, the menu diverse. We settled on local fresh fish. The wait wasn't unreasonable and the meals were fresh and tasty. I like the fact they buy their fish and veggies from local farmers and fishermen. The corn on the cob was especially tasty. The atmosphere was very loud , the decor interesting as this restaurant has been here since 1916. Overall good experience. If we have tne pleasure of returning to Watch Hill, we will eat at OTR again
