For someone who loves quaint, old-fashioned B&B's, this was a complete departure from the norm. The industrial look of the building (maybe in a previous life was a factory of some sort?), and the sleek, modern decor in the room was quite different than most hotels. The lobby had a sitting area with a very well-stocked lending library and some games. The room was very comfortable and attractive, very clean. Nice shower with a huge rainfall style shower head. Bed was very comfortable. The view was of a river and bridge...lovely. My only problem with the room was that there were no mirrors in the main room, so if someone is using the bathroom the other person can't be applying makeup or drying their hair. The lighting was set back behind the bed, somewhat dim, so might not be conducive to reading in bed, but we got in late and only for one night so I didn't try. There is a desk, a loveseat with a good reading light, a Keurig, a clock which has an IPod connection, coffeemaker, safe. The staff was very pleasant. Good location for airport, Newport, Providence. Hotel is used by some airline crews for layovers.

Totally unexpected. Very cool decor. Good restaurant. Convenient. Our room didn't have the best view - 2nd floor, 3 exposures to front of hotel but it was only one night. Very responsive front desk staff. Nice waitress in hotel.

Room Tip: find out what floor, which direction you are facing, etc.

We booked thru Priceline and after checking out their website I wasn't so sure it was a good idea. The whole hotel only has rooms w/1 king bed, so if traveling w/kids there isn't an option. At the time we were unsure if we were bringing our 11yo w/us...kind of sealed his fate after reading up on it! Anyway, hotel is nice, rooms are extremely small. If privacy is an issue, this is not the place for you. Door opens into room looking directly at the bed and bathroom isn't completely closed off, open space above shower, into the room (toilet issues??) Very quiet at night, but extremely loud in the morning with maids letting doors slam. Nice hotel, but we would not stay again.

We came to Rhode Island to visit Newport but there was limited availability in the town and the hotel prices were high. So we decided to take the opportunity to see Providence, and we found the Nylo - wow, what an unexpected surprise! And it's only a 30-minute drive to Newport. I had never heard of the hotel chain (apparently they have three more in Texas), and the owners/designers did a fantastic job with the modern-industrial design. The staff is incredibly friendly all around and the rooms are great, comfortable and clean - and the rooms are very quiet. The food in the restaurant was okay but I found the prices to be fair. We had originally intended to stay two nights and move to a different part of New England, but were so impressed with the hotel we decided to extend our stay here two nights and use this as a central point for visiting other towns. I'd recommend it to anyone coming into town!

This swanky boutique hotel was the old Fruit of the Loom Factory.
Good location, close to the airport but feels very far away.
Not Manhattan chic but so different for Providence/Warwick, and less that 10 minutes to the beaches/waterfront areas.

I had the pleasure of staying at the NYLO in Warwick on April 27 and 28. We booked through a groupon deal. We were greeted by Stephen and he upgraded us to a suite which was very nice. I must say that the beds in the NYLO are so comfortable. I slept so well. The decor is very modern and very unique. The walls and floors are concrete so it is very quiet. The rooms don't have a bathtub, but rather the most luxurious shower. I never wanted to come out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider NYLO in the future.

Room Tip: Choose an upper floor. Sometimes you may hear music on the weekends.
