Comr here often. Nice place, especially if you can get a seat outside or by the back windows for a view of the water. Good drinks, nice selection of appetizers. Have always enjoyed ourselves here.

What a pleasure to view the bay and be surrounded by beuatiful scenery too!. Outside dining is available but we chose inside and listened to some great 70 's tunes. The waitress was so welcoming and such a professional. What a well run restaurant. To top all of this the food was scumptious. My friend had a bowl of appetizing broth filled with fresh cod, mussels, squid and jumbo shrimp. She finished every last drop! I had a sirloin with potato frites and a cesar dressed romaine side that was so delicious. Worth every penny of the $24/plate. A varied menu with fish and chips, swordfish, salmon, chicken and top notch bef selcetion. Chowder, soup and a col soup of the day is available also. Well worth spending time here

My friend and I heard about Trafford's through co-worker. She raved about the atmosphere and food. So my friend and I decided to give it a try. We went on a Saturday night. When we entered the restaurant we saw that is was very busy. The hostess (who I might add) was inappropriately dressed. Explained it would be a 45 minute wait. That was a little long, but we decided to stay. We were directed to the bar on the Patio. The Patio was nice and the view was lovely. There weren't any seats at the bar so we stood by the railing. It took us over ten minutes to get a drink from the bartender who seemed overwhelmed. Ok, it's a busy night we thought, and took it as that. About 30 minutes later we were able to be sat at a table. The waitress was nice and told us about the specials and asked us we would like another drink. My friend joked and said "not if it's going to take ten minutes to get it". The waitress shot us a snooty look. She did return promptly with our order. We then ordered our meals. Everything seemed to be good. After a good fifteen minutes I called the waitress over (only because we were then being ignored), and asked about our meals. Surely it doesn't take fifteen minutes for two salads to come out. She explained that the kitchen was very busy cooking large party orders. Another ten minutes go by, no salads, another ten minutes goes by, no salad. Really??? We waited over 40 minutes for your meals. Add the 30 minutes we waited at the bar, plus the 40 we waited for our food. We both had done waitressing when we were younger and couldn't get over time we waited for just an okay meal. The girl who served us our food was anything but congenial. She looked as though someone had just ran over her dog. The waitress seemed to be frightened to come to our table because the food was taking too long, and yet there was an apology. When we go out we usually like to order dessert and coffee after our meals. However, we just couldn't wait to get out of there. We will NEVER go back. When we returned to work on Monday both of us approached the co-worker who had recommended this disaster of a restaurant and just shook our heads and said "REALLY???" That place sucked.

We went for dinner for a friend's birthday, on the recommendation of others who had dined at this relatively new location.
Great water/riverfront setting in a newer building, but the exterior first impression is very bland, needs some pizzaz to liven it up. Plenty of parking available.
Interior is on two levels, with a contempory minimalist modern decore. It's attractive, full of light, and has some nice local artwork on the walls.
It was a weeknight and not very busy, but the delays were inordinate. First, the hostess said she had to see if the table was cleared and disappeared upstairs for almost five minutes, returned and took us upstairs to be seated. Then we sat for almost five minutes before a server arrived to take drink orders. If it had been busy that might have be understandable, but it was not, only four other tables being served by two servers.
Finally, we got drinks and ordered dinners, and food arrived reasonably quickly, including an excellent homemade soup and really large and excellent salads (try the Romano and Black Pepper Dressing!). Two other seafood entrees were average in quality, a bit bland. Wine by the glass was varied and reasonably priced, as was the by-the-bottle selection. Overall, the menu is varied and interesting, beckoning one to come back for some other selections.
However, the poor service continued, with the wait staff disappearing into the kitchen area for extended periods of time. When the server did appear we couldn't get her attention as she waited on one table at a time and then returned to the kitchen. The servers were mature individuals who appeared to be experienced so their behavior was puzzling?
When we were finished it took almost ten minutes for our server to reappear to clear the table. We were planning to have coffee and dessert but were getting restless at the delays so we opted to pay our bill and go elsewhere for an after-dinner drink/coffee/dessert.
This location has lots of potential, the kitchen seems to know what it is doing, but the front-of-the-house service needs a lot of improvement. Hopefully they will do it, since it can be a wonderful location in the summer with the outdoor deck and bar right on the waterfront.
