“Great Breakfast in R.I.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2012

Referred by a co-worker, and very glad we listened! Laid back/casual and a bit on the loud side... great place to go with the kids. Seemed like awhile for the food to come... but probably because the flat top grill is right in front of you and you get really hungry seeing and smelling the great food. The Cinnabon French Toast was amazing!

“High expectation... Better experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2012

I am a local and have often had breakfast and lunch at Phil's for years. This reincarnation of the complex of buildings is outstanding. Very nice design...quality execution! Hey...what about the Food? The salads contain the freshest and crispest veggies imaginable and contain an interesting collection of greens. Can't remember any better at any time, anywhere. A great start! The fish is also top notch. I believe that it brought in daily from the boats in the port of Gallilee that's five mile down the road. The freshest ingredients given to a kitchen that knows what to do with them. I had well prepared sword fish that still allowed me to taste the flavor of the fish. Too many kitchens overwhelm the flavor of seafood with some over created chef's favorite sauce. The other 3 in my party all were very pleased with their selections. One person ordered only the chef's salad that turned out to be a meal in itself. The service is professional, pleasant and unobtrusive. Prices are reasonable considering the quality. By the way, you can still get breakfast downstairs with all the locals and take advantage of the early bird special that includes eggs, toast and home fries for less than $2.00. A surprise treat is the refurbishment of the old art gallery building in the rear of the property. It is now a theater. Rows of seats on two sides of the stage floor and a very talented local cast. You are literally 5 to 20 feet from the action. Highly recommended. They also do matinees for children with low kids prices for the youngsters and free admission for the companion adults! Don't miss it.

“Best fish tacos ever!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2012 via mobile

My daughter and I happened upon Phil's during a ride on the nearby bike path. We had a lovely lunch on the rooftop. Service was a little inattentive but cheerful. I had the best fish tacos anywhere (made with mahi mahi, not tilapia, giving them more flavor) and my daughter's garden salad was bountiful. Sweet potato fries were addictive! Prices were awesome - $20 for both of us with tax and tip. We'll be back!

“South County's Best Breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2012

Discovered this place as a URI student, and still make the trip to Wakefield on occasion to come back. Its exactly what it looks like...busy, a little noisy, and very casual...but the food is delicious and comes quickly. Their homefries are phenomenal!

Get there early or be prepared to wait though. Its packed with locals year round, tourists in the summer, and college kids in the winter. That being said...its ALWAYS worth the wait

“Good Choice”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2012

I ate at Phil's after riding the bike path that runs through the city. Prices were average. I ate Diane's Chicken Breast, and it was very good. Our service was not very good, but I think we may have been the exception as it seemed everyone around us was getting good service. The food was perfect for post-ride; not too heavy. I would definitely go back.
