We were attending a performance at Theatre By the Sea and thought we'd give this a try. I called in advance for a reservation. I asked to be at a nice table since the date was special (my birthday). Upon entering, we were led to a table for two which was fine, but cramped, and the waitress who was serving at another table kept brushing by me to get to that table. When we were being seated, I told the hostess that I would prefer a booth (which appeared to be better seating). She said, "Oh, no, they are all reserved". I told her that I asked for a nice table since it was my birthday. She informed me that I had to specifically request a "booth". I let it go and we ordered our meal. The waiter was pleasant, but hurried. We ordered and shared the shrimp appetizer which was good, but not great and it was pricey. Then we both ordered (each) a chicken with pasta entree. It was OK, but pricey and scant. It was not anything I would order again.
What was helpful about this place is the parking because Theatre by the Sea is great, but the parking situation is a nightmare----- especially after the performance. This parking lot is like a dream come true. And we are season ticket holders. If we go again, and I would recommend this to anyone planning to eat there---order a burger. Not too many places can mess that up and the price was right! The grounds are lovely surrounding the entire area. So given the convenience and the option of ordering something more affordable and with an ok price, we probably will go back. We just saw the last play of the season. So that may be next year. We'll think about it because there are some excellent restaurants in our area that we love and we don't mind paying more if the value is there.
