My wife and I go there often and enjoy eating at the bar. Nicole is a very engaging bartender and a pleasure to talk to. The food is always good. We enjoyed linguine and clams and a eggplant and chicken parmigiana combination. Both dishes were excellent.

While on vacation for a few days we found this awesome place to eat! We were staying in Westerly and after trying so many of the restaurants that stunk we found this jewel. Food was awesome and service was perfect. Don't miss eating here!!!!!!!

I have eaten here five times over the last couple of years and have always had a very good meal. The veal is excellent and the basic approach of serving good quality food with attention and caring is appreciated by this diner. The restaraunt is spotless and the staff remains in place over time, both signs of caring and good ownership. When the small things are top notch, the caesar salad is crisp and cold and perfectly dressed and presented, you know that the level of effort to serve good food is high. Very reasonable in all aspects.

We hadn't been to Trattoria Romana in a while but visited with friends last week and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We went early and on a very rainy night so the restaurant wasn't as busy as on others we've been there. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgable. We took our time enjoying our Pinot Noir and munching on the crusty Italian bread. We shared beet salads, a special that night that proved to be plenty for two. Everyone was happy with their entrees and some of us had enough to take home lunch for the next day.
We would recommend the restaurant to friends ... It has a cozy, quiet atmosphere with attentive service and solid Italian food.

My husband and I recently celebrated our anniversary at Trattoria Romana since we had heard such great things about the restaurant. Unfortunately, we were seriously disappointed. We were seated at a table across from the bar. It may be quieter in other parts of the restaurant, but we found it very difficult to communicate where we were seated. The TVs hung above the bar were quite distracting as well. The tables were so close together, it was as if we all were sitting at one long table. We had no choice but to overhear our neighbors' conversations, especially considering the ambient volume in the room. Our meals started well - the Prosciutto E Mozzarella were delicious. However, my Gamberi Toscana, featuring the restaurant's homemade pasta, was a gloppy mess, topped by 4 very overcooked shrimp. For a $20 bowl of pasta, I expected more. My husband's salmon was similarly overcooked. With better restaurants nearby, we will not be returning.
