“So glad we stopped here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2013

We were in the area running an evening errand so I had a look on tripadvisor for a place to eat. Once again, the TA contributors led us to a wonderful place. This is the kind of place you don't want to write a review about, because you want to keep it a secret. It was a chilly evening and when we arrived the deck was crowded and inside was packed. We put our name down for a table and were told it would be a half hour wait for one outside, under the heat lamps. We went to the outside bar, ordered drinks and a dozen Matunuck Oysters and waited. The oysters we delicious - small, sweet and firm. 30 minutes later we were called to our table. Everything we ordered was delicious, but we all agreed, the mussels in coconut milk (an app from the specials list that I ordered as a main) was the best. In fact, they were the best mussels I've ever had - I'll be dreaming about them! And, we enjoyed a beautiful sunset while we dined. It was perfect. Highly recommend. Can't wait to go back - especially on a warm evening!

“Great sea food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2013 via mobile

Excellent place where to heat great sea food. Caipirinha very good. Very nice place where to have dinner in a summer place after a beach day or just a place where to relax.

“A blast!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2013 via mobile

From the valet parking to the bartender who knew how to make an obscure cocktail to excellent seafood...great ambiance and service. A fun venue with top shelf ingredients. Not your average clam strip beach joint! Definitely try the specials - fresh and worthwhile!

“Amazing lobster rolls”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2013

This was my first visit to RI and a local recommended going there for the seafood. First, the place itself is small, but don't let that deter you. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but again...it's worth it! There's both outdoor and indoor seating, they're right on the water so it can be a bit breezy and a little cooler than you might expect. Wear a sweater! My friend and I decided to sit inside at a small table; the entire restaurant is surrounded in windows, so even if you're inside, there's a lot of natural light and beautiful views. The place was very busy, but we were acknowledged right away and waters were brought within a few minutes. The menu is a seafood lovers dream; we decided to start with the calamari and we both ordered lobster rolls. The calamari was very tender, not tough or chewy like at a lot of restaurants. The lobster rolls were fantastic. This is not your run of the mill lobster place, you get sizeable claw meat and it's not at all overladen with mayo or seasoning...just pure lobster. The taste was amazing and for anyone who's never experienced eating lobster that is fresh caught, this is an awesome place to do it. Along with the lobster rolls came fries, which were not the greatest, but I wasn't there for the fries anyways. It is going to be a bit more expensive than what you might expect...lunch for two with no drinks was over 50 with tip. But in the end, you're getting much more out of it than food and I would without a doubt return again.

“The Source”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2013

You will never eat oysters any fresher than those that are served at the Matunuck Oyster Farm! The farm came first, then the restaurant, and now they have a farm for veggies and greens too. We've had the mixed platter of RI oysters, fried oysters, and just yesterday, the Oysters Rockefeller. I never eat oysters anywhere else! Also on the table yesterday: Linguine with clam sauce (in shell and out) and clams with chorico and white beans. The latter was an appetizer portion which would have been an ample entree (but partner wanted to share). Eat here early and often!!
